Welcome everybody! Welcome to Dannieh The place of peace and security Firstly, I'd like to tell you that The Dannieh Union Was founded in 2016 It currently consists of 22 organizations Our work encompasses many fields; Cultural, developmental, social, educational We have plenty of activities In the 'Taaziz Kitaa Al Siyaha' project In Dannieh We worked with the 'Lebanese Foundation for Permanent Civil Peace' As well as the G.I.Z. On a huge project in the northern region Called 'Qudurat Al Shamal' This project Is funded by about 24 organizations In the north And they all proposed different ways In order to help the northern people Dannieh is a wonderful place With it's mountains, valleys, springs Its snow, kind people, etc.. Essentially all aspects of human kindness And all things that lead to truth and unity For the entire region Today, we are going to Bakhoun village We're going to record in cool places They have good food as well Welcome everyone Our adventures today begin in Bakhoun Currently we are in Kherbe, a place in Bakhoun There are houses over 100 years of age And we are going have breakfast A sweet meal, by the hands of a local lady I kindly hope you enjoy it! My name is Ameera Ismail I make manakeesh and pastries "Are you working every day?" Every day Morning, afternoon, and evening This is 'Fateeret Sukkar' Its bread, with a butter spread and sugar "What do you add now?" This is butter "And then, sugar?" Yes This round bread has sugar and butter Worth it "Hows the mankoushe?" Like no other! The flavour is excellent Really good! This is extremely tasty And I advise you to eat from it Incredible (Jokingly) Finish your food before I eat! We'll just eat the cheese then leave "The pizza is on the way" Oh okay "Welcome to Taran" Greetings! We are in Btermaz Second biggest village in Danniyeh After Baasfrine It is about 120Km away from Beirut We have the biggest natural reserve here in Btermaz And its open to a few forts Today, we are going to visit one of the many forts here And each fort has a name Its a huge village And all forts lead to one another And we are very glad to have you here! Pine, cypress, and white oak trees And in 'Sheikh Al Mohammad' village It's overgrown with white oak trees When I do come to Dannieh I always say "best cheeses in the country" There are many villages around here Bakhoun, Seer, Hay Al Azeeme And a couple more But I never thought to myself about how many beautiful forests they have Strolling in the forest, under pine trees Untouched nature The birds chirping about And you can enjoy hiking from mountain to mountain Come to Dannieh! We have treehouses! Anyone who's not in any group Can come here And they can take pictures You can even enjoy a campfire here throughout the night I can't believe how incredible this is The way the tree is gripping the treehouse is uncanny "One, two, three, four, five" On each side Holding up and fully stable A night here That would be awesome Welcome everybody! We are happy to have you all I'm Alaa Saadeh I studied to become a local guide We are on our way to Sfireh temple This area is approximately 1100m above sea level It is also 35km away from Tripoli As for the temple itself It is about 1350m above sea level The oldest temple was most likely made During the first century in the Julian calendar Then came this one That one came last, during the second & third centuries They say that Sfireh was named after the Roman emperor Severus as he once resided in this area So with that being said They say that Sfireh was most likely named after Severus A Roman queen made this temple here This rock here was likely used as part of the entrance And she wrote with Roman hieroglyphs that she made it What a coincidence That we were in Niha yesterday And it is exactly identical to Sfireh Sfireh, however, is slightly smaller Same entrance here Same small doors around the entrance as well And also, the stairs And you might think to yourself "Thats all, right?" There's actually an enclosed room here Which is also found in Niha The same exact details The same rocky infrastructure The stairs The view of the mountains above Identical "One, two" And I wonder how many there were in Lebanon There were probably many more like this that got demolished over time The Romans picked this place Because there are 3 species of trees In order to have easy access to transport wood to the south But they also picked this place Because it is between two rivers The exact same Just like Niha We have the small temple The big temple A castle on the mountain top And also, many locations here in Lebanon The amount of architecture and memories That the Romans left behind Is truly magnificent And maybe some day we'll film a video With a historian, who has studied about all the Roman ruins around this area And why did they pick these temples Why did they choose these specific places These incredible views behind us Quite important strategical points And why were there Big, medium, and small temples As well as their architecture It is incredible In Danniyeh Take the road going upwards Follow your GPS To the top These views are immaculate Welcome to 'Beit Al Sultan' Beit Al Sultan is a traditionally significant house Found in Danniyeh Its a house with a wonderful view With a great temperate atmosphere The house unifies love, kindness, and respect Beit Al Sultan was based on a private room A stone room with antiques, That a married man decided to build He built it in order to bring his friends over and have an enjoyable night So at some point, tourists began to appear After seeing wonderful pictures online Here, we greet our guests with a traditional breakfast In fact, the breakfast is already layed out on the table Here, was the starting point of the whole idea The idea was discussed in this very room It was a room that brought out enjoyable times and memories And we reminisced about how our ancestors lived back then Bless your sweet hands Can you hear the crisp? Wow Now this is a traditional mankoushe! And it started to rain Blessings raining from the heavens The zaatar is delicious Its concentrated beautifully Your dough is fantastic! I wonder how long has it been Since I've last had traditional flavours like this It's eye watering It's juicy inside-out! I left a portion of the mankoushe Ill add this ball of labneh (shanklish) A slice of tomato and enjoy the rest Sahtein! It's delightful Sitting here is a pleasure The rustic design and the location is sublime The stone walls, the wooden roof A traditional union and the incredible food I really loved the details in this house! The plates The coffee cups The food is really good The mankoushe is awesome The interior architecture, the details Truly surprised me In order to reserve a spot in Beit Al Sultan Call 03-311624 Everytime I visit a village, I love seeing tractors I learned how to drive it well! Forwards, backwards I can surprise you! I really like this tractor, and I think everyone in Lebanon will buy one But this one caught my eye Because it's new Clean, pristine, painted The chair is pretty cool Sexy right? You are in Jurd Mrabbine Welcome to my house! Welcome to Jurd Mrabbine We are 1700m above sea-level Mrabbine comprises a land area of about 40,000m Right here is the farm And this house that my father built is for family and friends We used to come up here and feast together So we thought "why dont we enlarge this house?" In order for more people to join us And to eat traditional Lebanese food with us And hopefully later on we'll have sleeping areas So you are all welcome, and we are glad to have you here! You are all welcome Kashk pastries You have to call and reserve Prior to coming here In order for all of us to enjoy together And to feast on traditional food together By the hands of aunt Najwa Everyone is welcome here We should be open here during summer And we're awaiting your arrival! You can never have enough zaatar Nor enough labneh One always craves at the sight of them Local tomatoes One by one And we'll add some of this It looks good Some mint leaves I have secured myself a great meal It tastes incredible! This is cozy winter food Kashk and shanklish (labneh balls) You left everything in order to raise your kids here? "Yes" And you love the mountains and the plains? "It is to die for" And the food is incredible! "Absolutely" Were you born in Australia? "No, I went there when I was 10" "I spent my entire childhood there" And then you came back? "Yes" Is there anything better than such classic food and unity "Its awesome" Friends and family! "With kind people like yourselves, I am always happy to greet you" Sahtein! Thanks for welcoming me into your home You can all visit here like I have but not during this winter, as snow will block out the roads But hopefully, starting next summer! "You are all welcome" We just arrived at Mgharet Al Zahlen This place Is one of the most beautiful places in Danniyeh It is a natural shelter There are 3 levels to it Prior to entering, don't forget to learn about the activities and cautions here As there are long, descending stairs Or even zip-lining Try out the bridge that connects two villages together Like Hael El Azimah What a wonderful atmosphere, clouded by fog and mist At the top of Arbaeen mountain So we are currently in Jabal Al Arbeen There are plenty of activities here Including sight-seeing As well as a long connective bridge Or the bridge that connects two areas You can also try out this trampoline Which is actually the tallest trampoline In Lebanon, as well as the Middle East Which makes your trip exciting! This project attracted many people here We all heard about the trampoline We all stood by this bridge And looked downward And the people that saw the view were in awe I can tell you that about 4 years ago When I came here for the first time We went on this bridge, and the view was truly astonishing It's unfortunate that we cannot see well today Although the atmosphere is pleasant This means that We must film a long video here, one day And with that, I conclude today's video A look around important sites and great cultural locations to visit here In Danniyeh There are plenty of wonderful things here And we have yet to eat knefeh Or talk about the cheeses here And so on Alright, let's ask our friends about their overall thoughts To conclude this fantastic day We would like to thank all organizations in Danniyeh In addition to the Lebanese Foundation for Permanent Civil Peace and G.I.Z. For this wonderful journey that united us In Danniyeh We visited very important sites here That should be spoken about And that reflects the beauty of Danniyeh As well as its people Also, we personally thank you, Anthony For such a wonderful trip today And hopefully in the future, we can visit more cool places together And record more videos together And thank you everyone! You are all welcome! We await your arrival!
