Show Video

[Music] there we are good evening for some reason technical difficulties of course um good evening and welcome to the jailhouse informant you are locked in for the next hour with myself and my co-host dr christy sumner hey everybody thank you for joining us tonight um just looking forward to talking about a few things that we're going to mention here um some stuff with our schedule some some enigma con information that you got from this past weekend some tourism some true crime so we got a lot going on tonight just um really just kind of wanted to chat a little bit about the podcast where we're going um kind of what we want to do here in the future so yeah i got some got some really exciting things it's it's been a very busy month here at the scott county jail and uh you know we've we've had everything from bike events to some great flashlight tours um to uh some really cool ghost hunts and paranormal investigations in fact we have our very last guided ghost hunt of the april uh and that's going to be on this saturday which will be what the 29th the 20th is friday friday sorry the the last ghost hunt is going to be that friday the 29th and uh it is guided by myself and dr sumner we do have i believe we have five tickets left at this time and so um we like to keep the ghost hunt small but uh they run from nine pm eastern time until midnight and uh we've the last three have been sold out so um so we are gonna be adding some for may but um we suggest going ahead if you're interested in getting in on this ghost hunt you can get tickets up until 4 p.m on friday but because they do sell out pretty quick um we do suggest that you go ahead and get that in as soon as you can yeah absolutely and just one more thing while we're on the subject of scheduling we've had several people ask us about uh paranormal investigations that are open through the rest of the year or past the the dates that we have currently uh we will be opening more dates it's just we've had just looking at our schedule and stuff so we do have dates available in october november december all of those will be available and we will be opening our calendar up hopefully by tomorrow miranda and i needed to sit down and kind of get our schedules together as well so um but if you're looking for a paranormal investigation and you don't see um an open availability right now rest assured that we will be opening those up yeah what we did with that so because we opened the schedule in november and both both christy and i we do a lot of traveling and a lot of speaking at other locations and so um you know october and september are very busy months for for all of us as a lot of our paranormal investigators know um we we are speaking a lot of conventions and so we open the calendar till september or through at the end of august but kept september october november december off because we needed to make sure that we got our schedules planned out so i think we pretty well got most of that booked and we'll be we want to get that open because there will be a couple weekends during those months that will be traveling so they won't be open for investigation so definitely this week we will have those dates up on the schedule for sure hopefully by tomorrow but definitely this week yes absolutely so again thank you all for the interest that we've had in the paranormal investigations as well as the guided ghost hunts uh as miranda said they've been extremely popular and we're really um we're really humbled by the response that we've been getting from the general public from paranormal investigators and uh you know for us it just is it's a great building it has a lot of history and it's very active paranormally so again be looking for those dates if you want to get on to the calendar as a paranormal investigator but do keep in mind that may the end of may will be the end of our paranormal research study so if you are a team if you're a medium if you're a psychic or anybody who's interested in getting in on this study you need to book before the end of may because may 31st is when uh the cutoff is for that paranormal research study yeah and a lot of people a lot of our teams have been having a lot of fun with that um you know if you if you book a full-time investigation that is included in your investigation if you choose to participate if you are a medium or someone who is not a member of a team or if you've come and you've investigated and you want to take another little stab at it um you know we are offering one hour sessions and we are actually offering distance sessions so if by some chance if you can't make it in during the month of may you can book a one hour distance session if you are a you know if you want to try something because again all experiments are are welcome with this whether you're a psychic medium or whether you're an investigator and want to use your tools there are no um there are no set answers to this we want to know what the crime was the what the date was what the item in the container is um names i mean there's a lot of things that we can get from this so so if you want to try a distance session give us a call with the numbers scrolling on the bottom of the screen or reach out to us on the website via email and we can book uh book the time i know we got the pricing on there i can't remember the pricing for the one hour sessions but uh but yeah definitely uh get that in so that we can get you in for the session or for the uh research study yeah it is a lot of fun um and so speaking of other things we have we've got new t-shirts everybody yes we'll pull that up here i was just trying to get through the yeah thank you everybody hello to everybody yeah and so if you've got uh if you do have any questions or anything throughout this just please just put them over in the comments and put them in all caps so that we won't miss you and so um we do have oh no oh my gosh it doesn't show up turn it around show up okay look at that oh my goodness is it showing up nope not at all wow we have invisible shirts apparently for sale um because they're not they're not showing up on this on this screen that we have up behind us well now you're gone you look like a harry potter episode no that is so wild so it must do a facial recognition thing um well that was unexpected um [Laughter] so um so anyway so you know you've you've seen our long sleeve shirts here and they've got the full color back on them uh the full color back of the jail and uh i need to actually go ahead and and pull up the um uh that just totally threw me off my cloak of invisibility here um but um it's it's our traditional full color shirt we do have those in short sleeves now it's got the um logo that we have on our door on the front side of the shirt and then it's got the full color gel on the back so those are up on the webs i believe they're on the website now for order they should be i know they are there in in the gift shop so um so we'll make sure they're on the website there and we will uh put those up i think those are are 22 each so um and you can order their own those online but uh let's see what else do we have like i said there's a yeah well i mean you were talking about how we had to um arrange our schedules because we're speaking and you just came off a speaking engagement in west virginia virginia yeah i did so um it's actually actually kind of in west virginia you were in virginia yeah it's uh it's been a long weekend um or our week yeah yeah so uh it's weird working on the weekends and our weekends starting on tuesday but um but anyways yeah i was just up in virginia and uh speaking at uh enigma cons which was at the the amazing saint albans sanatorium and so i'm going to actually just share um share a little bit a few of the pictures here let me get that pulled up here carl i want an invisibility cloak too there we go um so let me make sure people can see it yeah so um if you haven't been to st alban sanatorium this place is amazing if you're an investigator especially over here on the east coast i know you've heard of it um and and it's just very active everything from the time from when it was a boys school all the way to when it was a sanatorium and so um the great folks from bedford paranormal and uh of course mrs marcel from it from enigma con excuse me from saint albans they did an amazing job putting together this event this is their fifth year and uh they did a wonderful dinner for the speakers on friday night and you know just all the great touches you know they they put together for this um they made the speakers not only feel very welcome but also just really right at home and so um so we got together there on friday night uh just just some wonderful people the the event organizers as well as the speakers and vendors and had a dinner and then we were able to do a ghost hunt um because i had such a long drive and had to get in earlier i did not actually participate on the ghost hunt that night but um we had booths set up and so like i said just kind of quickly scrolling through a few of the pictures there's carl and who's there in the audience and russ yes and uh and so you know just some some amazing folks talking about some really great topics everything from amityville horror to skinwalker ranch there were a couple demonologists there there's there's one of them right there james anito they spoke they were the keynote speakers and so so yeah just just a great turnout it was a sold-out show and uh so and then after everyone spoke we spoke from about uh ten o'clock that morning till six o'clock at night and then came back at eight and did a ghost hunt on saturday night with i believe about 75 people so um so yeah just just wonderful i want to get to uh the picture of um of the cake because this was [Music] no i don't believe it's in this folder but um a couple pictures from where i was presenting um but uh but yeah so it was um great great time great time and i definitely like i said if you're not uh if you are not if you've not ever been you you definitely need to put it on your calendar for next year and do that actually i'm gonna find a picture of the cake i know i have it that that was definitely something i know i had posted it i probably didn't put it in the album but uh bear with me one second because i just saw russ's comment asking if the cake was good the cake was not only beautiful but ah here it is let me pull this up um it was not only beautiful but it was amazing to look at um they it was about a three layer cake and it actually had saint albans in there and it was chocolate vanilla and strawberry um each layer was a different flavor and so um big pieces big great pieces so uh so yeah if like i said if if if you have never been you need to make sure to watch your calendar next year for it'll be in april of next year and put it on there and plan to go yeah and what's interesting about the the show is miranda actually talked about her life behind bars i.e handlebars and then corresponded that with actually becoming a co-owner of the historic scott county jail so her presentation was actually something that was um really uh uh what's what i'm looking for it really tied into what she does as ghost biker and then what she does at the historic scott county jail so if you ever get a chance to see her presentation at any any of these conventions that she's at um i highly recommend it because it does really do a good job of transitioning from what she's done with ghost biker uh to what she's done at the historic scott county jail yeah well well thank you yeah it was uh um it it's really cool how everything just kind of tied together with that um you know to be able because i do often talk about my time behind bars which would be my time as ghost biker um and so to actually and and i love investigating jails i've investigated a lot over my time as an investigator and so to be able to actually tie that together by now being a location owner um was really cool and we got a lot of we got a lot of compliments um you know on the presentation as well as a lot of folks that are looking and coming and hoping to book um the historic scott county jail coming up real soon so thanks for letting me share yeah yeah i know it really does a great job of really tying in the paranormal tourism aspect which is what you know we're obviously highly involved in so you know when we go to these conventions it gives us the opportunity to see what other location owners are doing to really give us a chance to brainstorm what works with them what could work for us and then you know people are asking ideas of us so to be able to to go to these conventions again and really tie in uh kind of what we're doing now and how we're doing it i mean to me it's pretty awesome right now that we're actually location owners yeah you know and that's what i always say in my presentation is you know i i obviously use a lot of metaphors being being a biker but um you know talking about that road and you're not never really knowing exactly you know where that road is going to lead you and so to be able to combine those passions of the paranormal motorcycling history and you know and preservation and storytelling to be able to combine all of those and to take you know a passion of ghost hunting and be able to turn it into your job of being a location owner and working to preserve restore these buildings is it's just amazing and so um to kind of to answer uh susan's question she asks if any chance of the rest of us will have the opportunity to see it um so um i i am going to be speaking at several other conventions uh this year um we'll um there's a few of them i've not announced just yet but i will be speaking in a few as as it goes on several quite a few in september a couple over the summer and i'm sure i'll be talking about uh my time behind bars on that so if you want to see it you gotta come to the convention [Laughter] we may do something at the jail but uh yeah i mean that can be fun doing something like that yeah um but you know again really what we try to do with the jail is a little bit different than what other location owners do i know like for saint albans obviously they have a history of the sanatorium and such and with the jail what we've done is really try to build a robust museum along with the building itself being the main draw right so we do a lot of crime and punishment stories we do a lot of true crime stories we do we have displays for law enforcement officials and really recognizing what they've they've done in their career and all of that so for us you know it serves adult the jail serves a dual purpose right that paranormal aspect but then also um this true crime and punishment um jail or display is what we're trying to do um so one of the articles that we highlight and you know when we put these up when we put these articles up and we put these displays up it's not because we're picking a side right we we have no dog in the fight for any of the articles that we have up there we are just putting up articles that were presented in the newspaper whether it be scott county news knoxville journal independent herald out of scott county and so when we talk about these things um we we're not doing it we're not we're not doing it because we're picking a side and so we want to say that up front because the the story that we're going to talk about tonight it is an article that we have up in the jail we have the entire story line about this this event um but it's not that we're picking sides we're just highlighting uh a true crime that happened in scott county so we do want to get that out up front yeah and so um and again like she said that's how we do the museum um and we're we're kind of transitioning a little bit if uh if you watch last week's podcast we kind of took a little uh sort of impromptu poll about uh the direction with this podcast and so uh we have guests on here very very often more often than not we have guests and we have some very very cool ones that we have coming up but um we're really kind of transitioning instead of talking just as much about local we're actually going to transition more and talk about local true crime and talk about the actual paranormal of the museum because most of the folks who are here in the um in the chat room are paranormal investigators true crime buffs and uh you know are planning to come and visit the jail so um so anyways we uh you know we thought we would kind of kick off tonight with talking about one and plus it fits kind of because we're on an anniversary yeah yeah so uh so this actually and i'm going to just pause quickly uh genevieve that we have guided tours but we also have an audio tour through the jail so we can lead tours to the jail but if somebody wanted to come and just take an audio tour and kind of work at their own pace we have an audio tour that has 13 or 14 stops on it so as you progress up through the jail through the floors of the jail you can take that audio to her yeah and but the after dark tours those are leaded elite those are those are leaded by us um those are led by us and so um so uh anyway yeah come genevieve and we'll lead it to you yeah so um so yeah they uh we do lead those the flashlight tours and of course the guided ghost hunts we do leave those and if you do have a large group um because you know we've got like a birthday party scheduled coming up yeah that's gonna be fun forgot about that yeah yeah we're really really excited about this uh a kid's birthday party i think they're around ten eight or ten years old it's either ten eight-year-olds or eight ten-year-olds i can't remember eight ten-year-olds probably yeah so um so we do do that sort of thing and lead those tours so if you have a large group and you would like to have them come to the jail give us a call and we can we can set that up and uh of course we're in somewhere a little bit different this time you know our background tonight is um comes from the third floor in maximum security this is the uh women's cell that's up there [Laughter] and so and i just want to bring out uh what sheila says she says the timeline display is awesome thank you that's something we are extremely proud of that uh dr sumner and i put together in there that's got a timeline history which i think we'll talk about that maybe on another show kind of highlight that yeah yeah so um but anyways i'm going to go ahead and share the screen and we're going to get into tonight's story i believe the articles that we're going to be talking about tonight comes from the independent herald and the scott county news both correct right and just be aware just a disclaimer um back in 1983 when this story originated in april 21st of 1983 um the newspaper posted some very graphic photographs so some of the photographs that we will be showing here are a little bit disturbing so but they were published in the newspaper so we're going to go ahead and share those again kind of with the story and uh yeah as marina said this is going to kind of kick off our our true crime uh portion of our podcast yeah and so uh if i mean we do have these highlighted there so if you are squeamish or whatever just uh listen rather than uh watch so so uh yeah so this story it happened on april 21st uh 1983 and um this was actually a car bombing in in scott county so floyd laxton he was a former tennessee highway patrol trooper and um he went out to start his truck one morning and it exploded there was sticks of dynamite wired to the ignition and um so obviously you can see the truck exploded um the bomb was heard from up to a mile away and there's so many crazy facets to this story first one is this was the third bombing attempt on floyd blackston's life he had already survived two and so this third one was the one that really did the most damage yeah and ironically or not ironically but um surprisingly he survived he lived yeah yeah he lived um it blew off his legs and his fingers and blinded him in one eye but he never lost consciousness he uh when the neighbor one of the neighbors uh everybody within a mile radius heard the bomb um but one of his neighbors was the quickest to get there he got there in about 50 to 60 seconds and floyd was was lucid he was talking he said don't touch me um you know just to back away go call the sheriff go call um an ambulance and um and so yeah he he never lost consciousness during this entire ordeal um so one of the other interesting things about this is one of the emts his name was jim owens he still resides in scott county and he was really one of the heroes of the story um both he and david lewallen and other emts that responded they are actually credited with saving floyd laxton's life after this bombing because you know they loaded him up in the ambulance and they needed the quickest way to get to the hospital and um jim owens decided that an unfinished bridge that was under construction it had not been finished yet um he was just gonna drive over it even though he was not authorized to do so he went ahead and did it and he was able to get them to get him to the hospital within 10 minutes um so that actually contributed to saving his life yeah i believe that's that's jim i think standing over on the left-hand side i believe that's jim um like i said these these photos that's one of the things that's the most amazing to me about these articles are that um i mean you can see the victim they're in full view this was a front page of a paper and um they just you know having had him laid out there so it's just amazing to me how things have changed with um you know what they post i mean they still today will post car accidents in the paper and publish names and that sort of thing in our local papers but obviously not to this extent but it's just been interesting and all of our photos if you go into our main museum room we actually have quite a few crime scene photos in there and those crime scene photos actually came from when the paper was on site so um anyways not to digress no no that's pretty amazing to me yeah so um you know again these are some of the true crime stories that we do highlight um in in the museum and so um yeah this is an interesting story again because it just touched so many different facets right it's not just um the laxton family it's it's everybody as cindy lau said there's so many people that remember this story um that have opinions about this story again we will not get into the opinion piece of this um but then there's so many historic or heroic stories that came out of this instance like i said jim owens and and the other emts there really were credited with saving his life um and i believe he lived um what uh 10 to 12 years after this from what i've heard from what i've heard i believe he lived now you know we may see here of course these are the articles from when this happened um it doesn't have really there's only a few from the aftermath correct that you found um and some of these come from our displays so from what we've found or what i've heard i believe he lived 12 years after that um and and what's interesting on this um you know as you had said he was a uh worked for the tennessee highway patrol according to the article he was a 14-year veteran and that he was uh in in the race for sheriff in campbell county which is the neighboring county and what i find fascinating about this is the fact that this was the second uh uh reported to be the or he the third yeah the third one yeah he had already he had already survived two of them so he um he actually found sticks of dynamite under his uh under his car before that in 1982 and then a couple of a couple of months before this one he he found some um they tried to bomb a restaurant that he frequented um but again those those bombs did not explode so nobody was injured in those but yeah so two other times prior to this car bombing um there he was there was an attempt on his life yeah yeah i'm just kind of in looking at it says that there were five sticks of dynamite and a blasting cap on the underside of his mobile home residence on the first attempt and then on the second attempt which was the year prior uh it says that there were two sticks uh of an explosive underneath the driver's seat of his car and he saw that when he was leaving the restaurant so um just crazy i mean to think that that's something that's local yeah that i mean that happened in scott county again um just interesting true crime um stories that come out of this this county um you know i can i can say this because i'm from florida i've never seen anything like this right i mean i've i've never really heard of a car bomb before um but this is the second car bombing story that we have highlighted in our museum yeah yeah and so definitely come to the museum and you can see these actual newspaper articles um i believe that this article here that we're showing right now that actually was the very next week of the paper correct yeah this was uh this was in the knoxville journal okay okay and so what's interesting on this is the fact of just how tight-lipped uh the investigators were about revealing any of the detailed inter information on the motive or the method of the crime let's see yeah so again it's just just really it's it's fascinating again to your point what they were publishing the pictures that they published but um you know again to highlight these articles actually have these newspapers i mean to have a newspaper from 1983 is is pretty cool in and of itself but to be able to highlight some of these um stories and and just to know that that he lived that you know there were heroes involved in this um there's definitely a a different undercurrent there again between the families but um it was it was definitely an interesting story so this here just kind of has the timeline of of how it happened um the the bomb actually happened at 9 15 and um and then you as it says there you could hear from up to a mile away and that neighbors responded and they do credit the emts for getting him to the hospital so quickly that they were able to save his life and i believe that bridge that uh they were talking about that's the bridge that was on the very main road right there off 63 yep i believe yep okay the one that goes over the train yeah because i remember as a kid uh when that built when that bridge was built and um having to take the long way around and you couldn't get anywhere very fast there in scott county i mean until some of the the bridge was it was built there and some of the roads were were added because it is so mountainous and it's so rural you really couldn't get anywhere too fast yeah so we'll just kind of go through some of the others um so this this is the newspaper that was actually in 1986 so this is three years after um they did have a suspect in this case um he was a military explosive expert and the reports were that they that he was hired to do this job so he actually was convicted of this crime he did serve prison time for his association with this crime um so they actually caught him down in florida and uh or he was in florida they actually ended up capturing him after a shootout so okay because i was i was going to ask what the uh what led them to him had they had a suspect up until then did you know of not that i know of um after reading this story they just because again as you said they were just kind of tight-lipped about his involvement how um people were you know who were said to hire him uh how they were involved so the ending of the story is is quite convoluted so we'll we're not really going to go into that other than the fact that it actually happened yeah and you can you can actually come in and you can read more in detail about it um here inside the museum yeah so like i said i think it's really cool that they were able to get into the hospital within 10 minutes after the explosion or they were at the scene within 10 minutes of the explosion and they were able to get into the hospital yeah and so they go into talking about all of that with uh with the ambulance so we're just going to kind of go through some of the pictures but just incredible amount of damage to his truck and then to know that he actually survived is just a miracle yeah oops oops sorry well that car looks pretty unscathed well the window's been knocked out oh yeah well yeah there's a lot of debris on it wow but i mean that's part of the pickup truck that hit that car yeah just just a lot of damage and again just crime in scott county it's just um just a lot different yeah that looks like a dodge power wagon is what that looks like so i could see why that would uh the dodge pickup yep 1972. yeah

so i can see why my uncle had two of those so and and they're still they're still in good shape um and they were from 83 and 86 so okay very cool so yeah just some different newspaper art or a different newspaper pictures so that's sheriff marion carson on the right and deputy deputy lewin um looking at it that's the uh that's the actual engine that was blown this way that's the because that's the um the steering wheel yeah it's blown forward yeah so again just some interesting stories and these are the types of uh crime and punishment and um you know crime stories that we actually highlight here at the historic scott county jail um so we're going to look over here and see if there were any questions here um sheila asks was anyone charged uh yes so there was an individual that did serve time for this um and again because there are family members that are still local to the to the community um there's speculation on on different sides as to the outcome of this story we won't go into it here again you can come and read some of the stuff at the jail um but yes there was somebody charged with that and he did serve prison time yeah and then uh russ says sounds like scott county needs the batman and we can put the bat light right on the jail we can yeah we can just shine it right off the historic scott county jail and uh russ says did the individual have mafia ties um no from the articles that we read they did not have mafia ties just ties to other individuals in scott county yeah yeah it was more of a hit man kind of hitman for hire sort of the situation so yeah you know one thing one thing you have to understand about a small rural county everybody knows everybody pretty much most people are related and a lot of people since this did occur back in 1983 there are a lot of family members um charged people that sort of thing that that are still alive so out of respect um you know for all parties involved because you know you it is a very divisive story as as dr sumner said you know we're just we're not going to go into all the details um with the charging and that sort of thing but we do have the newspapers there and that's why we really try to stick to that with the museum um a lot of things you can go off on conspiracies you can go off on a lot of different trails but you know we're really trying to keep it just you know strictly to the news and that sort of thing just and reporting the facts and stuff so but again you can come out and you can read about the rest of the story there at uh at the jail so um if anybody has any other questions just go ahead and put them here in in the chat room um but uh but yeah that's that's just some of the the stories we plan to highlight on uh you know different episodes that we have coming up yeah so they'll just be quick segments about some of the true crime stories that we have um that we have found through the newspaper articles that we found in the archives um that we have displayed in the jail and uh so this will just be a quick segment part of kind of what we do from going here from going forward with the jailhouse informant yeah and so we also plan to have um you know there is a book about the jail and so uh in a specific crime that took place there i know a lot of you folks that are in the chat room have read that book and so we hope here in the very very near future to have that author on the show and he'll be able to go in and talk in more detail about his book and about the crime um because in fact you know there was just an anniversary and we posted about it on the website um earlier this week and um let me see i'm gonna actually what are you laughing at right yeah like a surgeon trying to figure this out well get it we're on two computers or one computer yeah that's challenging so um just kind of wanted to pull this up since this was also an anniversary uh april anniversary yeah um a lot of a lot of crime in in april um a lot of cool births in april but a lot of crime too so uh something that we did highlight earlier this week which was actually ironically also on april 21st and this has to do with one of one of the most infamous stories that a lot of folks know from the jail which is the jerome boya lynching that whole process that that led to his conviction or not conviction but uh him being put in the scott county jail and then also executed started with this and that was the murder of george and floyd winningham and so um that happened on april 21st and we uh and that that was the father and son sheriff and deputy from fentress county and so that was again that was on april 21st yep so again this is like i said this is just kind of us trying to put this into our podcast um and so it'll just be short segments um and then uh we'll also be moving our podcasts from monday night to sunday we've we took a as miranda said we took a informal poll last week and we think sunday may be a little bit better for the audience a little bit better for us and our schedule um so just be aware that we'll start doing this on sunday night from here going forward yeah and that will actually start next sunday night so next sunday night at uh at eight um and we'll we'll have more information on that um we have uh actually our guest next week is going to be ranger banks uh from the big south fork national river and recreation area so he's going to be talking about uh he's somebody talking about you know a lot of the history of how national parks got started um you know if you've not been to scott county we are primarily the big south fork um the land mostly in scott county consists of that park as well as parts of our neighboring counties as well as parts of kentucky so um so we're really excited that he's going to be joining us he's actually going to be joining us live for a live interview together at uh we'll be playing and um we'll be talking about the history of the park and such so yeah so i think you'll be a good guest i think it'll be a lot of fun because there are a lot of things to talk about in the big south fork um and the the buoyant story ties into that as well so um be a very cool guest i'm excited about seeing him yeah absolutely and um melanie says i would love to see something on maynard king he was a constable who is murdered by another constable he is my husband's ancestor we'll actually really like to to talk to you or your husband melanie um to get a little more information on that i know the one you're talking about and so um so yeah we would love to hear a little more about that especially since you have ancestral ties there um and then cindy says i just moved back to scott county from south dakota when this happened that's that's that's wild um so um so like i said new date that's gonna be coming up um let's see we will keep it at eight so susan we will be at eight o'clock on sunday yes yes absolutely and then uh like i said we've got that public or guided ghost hunt this coming friday at and it will be at 9 00 pm eastern time midnight so if you would like to get in we do have a couple tickets left and you can do that by either calling the number on the bottom of the screen or going ahead and booking straight from the events section and then we also have um talk about a couple other events that we've got going on um and if you want to go ahead and start that i'm going to get the i'll get the announcement thing pulled up here on the screen yeah so the next um big motorcycle event that we have coming up is going to be the harold young the second annual harold young memorial scholarship ride um this is a ride to dart run um it is in honor of miranda's father who was a science teacher at scott high and so what it is it's actually a dart run you do not have to have a motorcycle to participate but the very first stop is going to be at the historic scott county jail so you'll meet at the jail on the on may 21st and you will throw your first set of darts there at the jail and then you will go to all of the other stops and then it will end at the masons lodge um there in robbins yeah yeah so the second stop is going to be de la gaff motorcycle shop and then um the masonic lodge there in robbins we are partnering with them so it is a it is a ghost biker and widow's sons masonic lodge writers association um partnership that's doing this in honor of my dad and so we're just just beyond excited to actually you know be putting this together and that we're going to be the first stop at the event so um so you're going to come out at the jail be out of the jail by 10 and you know you don't have to ride a motorcycle but if you're familiar with a poker run that's what it's like except it's with darts so it is a game of skill rather than a game of chance and so all of the proceeds that are raised they do go to fun a scholarship for a student at scott high school looking to major in the field of science so we will also on that particular event we will be giving away the this year's scholarship to this year's recipient at the event so um and let's see we got a couple questions here uh russ says will there be a link on the website to donate to the scholarship fund yes there will um i'll have that and i'll actually have the uh it will probably rather than an electronic link it's going to be sort of a mail-in thing so i'll have the address that you can mail that in by this thursday's ghost biker garage show and we'll have this up on the website here if you want to mail in we'll have the address so um money is um money is due there at the event you don't pre-pay for the ride you actually pay for that at the very first stop which will be our stop so yep and if you want to come early you can take a tour of the jail you can visit our gift shop um yeah i mean even if you don't want to participate in the dart run just come on out just have a good time we'll obviously we'll be at the jail so come out and hang with us that day again that's may 21st yes may 21st at 10 a.m and it'll roughly go from 10 until two and uh there is going to be food at that last stop so your cost which is twenty dollars per person to play that does include all three stops as well as uh the uh the meal ticket at the end and i think you can buy an additional meal ticket for uh five dollars i believe so um so we're really excited about that um there will also be a ghost biker ride that's going to be the very next weekend and it's going to end at the rm brooks general store bike event that's going to be memorial day weekend on that saturday we're still working out the details of the exact route on that the ride is for motorcycles only but um i'm trying to i'm not sure if it's going to start at the jail or if it's going to include a stop at the jail so we'll get have that route published probably this week because it's going to be here before we know it and again it will end there at the rm brooks general store in rugby tennessee so um stay tuned for more information on that and then of course as we said at the top of the hour we will have dates for may booked or i mean on the event page for flashlight tours as well as the ghost hunts and then we will also have our private paranormal investigations open for the remainder of the year by the end of this week so yeah there's that and then if you're soul sisters paranormal fans i do hope to have the next video out tomorrow night so you'll get an announcement from that i just got a few things on the editing process to wrap up but hopefully i'll be dropping that tonight and then my co-host has a birthday on wednesday so i'd like to say a very happy birthday to miranda on wednesday so if everybody wants to send her a happy birthday notice i'm sure she'd appreciate that so but that's that's all for me tonight yeah yeah we definitely you want to check out the soul sisters video because uh your video is from post yeah posttown elementary it'll be uh highlighting post town elementary yeah anytime we can highlight these these really cool locations you know because um the location owners work hard to get the uh get the word out on these places and work hard at keeping the restoration and the paranormal tourism is is what funds these folks so um so stay tuned for note notifications on her video and watch that and uh yeah thank you for the happy birthday wishes so thank you everybody for tonight again we're still trying to feel out uh how this podcast is you know the structure um but we are going to weave in those true crime stories and some more information about the jail so thank you for sticking with us and um we will be back on sunday yeah yeah see you next sunday have a good night good night guys
