王思聪的新电视 110寸 110万 详解MicroLED技术 买电视我就送特斯拉Model 3
The TV behind me costs 1.1 million and is the product of Samsung's most cutting-edge technology It is also the name of the star product that has participated in CES in the past few years. I believe friends who pay attention to the field of technology should have heard of it In the past two years, I have explained the MicroLED display technology behind this TV one after another. Later, the official Samsung people invited me to participate in their product tasting meeting after seeing it.
After seeing the effect of this live broadcast, I recommended it to my friends in the past few months. Then two friends bought three sets in total. Then I was very honored to become the industry agent of Samsung's new media industry for this product line So in order to promote Micro LED technology and the world's most high-end TV I also decided to play something big as long as you buy through us or forward this video to your rich friends Then your friend buys the final sales referrer, as long as it is you, I will send you a Tesla Model 3 at my own expense There is only one place for car delivery, so you can repost the video now In order not to waste time, I will add an explanation at the end of this video The specific situation of this activity of buying a TV and giving a car In this video, I will show you an in-depth understanding of the MicroLED technology behind this TV. Don't think this technology is far away from you Micro LED technology has now been gradually applied to consumer electronics products Not only this TV will be the watch, mobile phone screen and computer screen in the future, but also display modules including VR and AR.
It will be applied to MicroLED because MicroLED is the direction of all display panels in the future and may even be the ultimate solution Because I'm in the tech industry myself and I'm interested in some of the newer technologies on the cutting edge Have a strong technical sensitivity and I also have a great passion So today I will take the opportunity of the real machine demonstration to talk about all aspects of Micro LED technology in detail. Take everyone to experience the next generation of display technology that will soon be popularized The content I want to talk about today is very dry, deep and long, but please be sure to read it, it will be of great value to you Because I searched the entire Internet circle, including the English circle I am the only one who introduces the technology of Micro LED in a simple way like me If you only have fragments of time now, please bookmark this video and find a complete time for me to watch it Based on the division of the display panel industry, we have experienced three generations of display technology changes CRT technology decades ago, plasma PDP technology belongs to the first generation of display technology Although the first generation of display technology is a breakthrough from zero to one However, there are many technical compromises and shortcomings. There are mainly a few problems. I will summarize them for everyone. First of all, CRT images are particularly prone to geometric distortion because the screen is curved. Then it's still big and power consumption is high and the screen will flicker The first generation of technology is decades ago because it is so old And there are enough in-depth popular science content on the Internet, so I won’t go into details. The representative of the second-generation display technology is LCD. I have popularized LCD technology before.
You can take a look at the playlist of this video is the playlist of hardcore display technology Go watch my video from two years ago and I will refine the shortcomings of LCD. In essence, LCD cannot emit light on its own. Then the bottom layer of the entire display module is the backlight layer, and the light emitted by the backlight layer passes through the lower electrode layer. Then the lower polarizing layer, the liquid crystal layer, the upper electrode layer, the RGB filter layer, the upper polarizing layer, and then pass through the outermost glass plate. Then the final packaging board is sealed together with so many layers. This is LCD or liquid crystal display technology.
Although there are two words liquid crystal in the name, the essence of LCD is liquid crystal. It is to let the liquid crystal molecules physically deflect to control whether the backlight of the bottom layer passes through So the biggest disadvantage is the low efficiency. The light emitted by the bottom backlight layer passes through so many layers. Most of the light converted from electrical energy will be wasted Then the second disadvantage is that there is no way to display pure black Because the entire panel is emitting light, the displayed black is nothing more than what is displayed after most of the backlight is shielded. So the part that causes black still has light exposed The third disadvantage is the viewing angle because the backlight layer is at the bottom The polarization properties of the filtered light after passing through the polarizer twice will be changed The directionality becomes very strong, so the attenuation of the display effect when viewed from the side is very serious. The fourth disadvantage is that the color is not bright enough because the color of the LCD panel is emitted through the RGB filter.
It is not the color achieved by the pixels autonomously emitting light and then emitting electromagnetic waves of different wavelengths Therefore, the displayed color saturation is relatively poor. The last disadvantage is the overall thickness of the LCD. Because the structure is relatively complex, it is not thin by nature, so the second-generation display technology represented by LCD In the ten years since its development to the present, it has been tinkered with by various supplementary technologies even today. For example, the partitioned backlight technology of Mini LED can solve the disadvantage that LCD cannot display pure black IPS panel technology can solve the problem of small viewing angles Quantum dot technology can solve the problem of not enough vivid colors In short, although various supplementary technologies are said to be able to solve such and such problems of LCD The display panels derived from these technologies are actually LCDs in essence, so they still have some other shortcomings of LCDs. Next, I will talk about the display technology of the third generation.
It is a technology represented by OLED, which is an organic self-luminous diode. The third-generation technology is also the technology that is being popularized in the era we live in The technical principle of OLED is very elegant, and each sub-pixel emits light independently And the light emitted is directly the electromagnetic waves corresponding to the three colors of RGB Therefore, the advantages are very obvious, that is, the color is bright, the power is saved, and it can display pure black. The most important thing is that there are not as many layers as LCD. The particles of a piece of OLED only have cathode, anode and organic polymer layers. Add a layer of polarizer to realize the display In addition, because it does not involve LCD, it is necessary to physically deflect liquid crystal molecules to control the luminous flux Therefore, the response speed is also extremely fast and can achieve a response speed of milliseconds. From the past few years, the flagship mobile phones of basically all brands If there is no OLED display, I am embarrassed to call it a flagship Nowadays, many high-end monitors and game monitors are basically OLED technology panels.
The high-end TVs of major manufacturers such as Samsung, LG and Sony also have the shadow of OLED At the same time, the first generation of display technology has withdrawn from the stage of history. CRT TVs have become antiques and collectibles. However, the second-generation LCD technology products are still circulating on the market as products covering the low-end and sinking markets. For example, Mini LED partitioned backlight TVs complement the sinking market that high-end OLED TVs cannot cover.
In other words, the second-generation LCD technology still has a market However, the direction of consumer electronics products is still developing towards the third generation display technology. However, as the current development trend, the third-generation technology OLED has a fatal shortcoming. That is, organic materials have an irreversible lifespan problem, and even the lifespans of sub-pixels of the three colors of RGB are different. Among them, blue has the largest excitation energy and is also the most easily consumed. Therefore, many manufacturers use RGB arrangement and sub-pixels of different sizes or use some tricky operations For example, to automatically offset the always-on screen area to make up for the defects of lifespan However, it is still impossible to avoid the defects and problems that the OLED screen will burn in after a long time.
At present, the solutions of various manufacturers are all palliatives, not the root cause. You may be able to avoid the problem of screen burn-in, but OLED screens will definitely have color cast after a long time of use. Because of all the blue sub-pixels on the whole panel it's just short-lived So your screen will slowly turn yellow when you use it All solutions are actually delaying this phenomenon.
Even some manufacturers are very funny and deliberately make the blue sub-pixels in extremely low power consumption and call it the eye protection mode. Although OLED has various advantages and even can achieve the best HDR effect at present But everyone, please remember that the consumption of organic materials and brightness of OLED are positively correlated Long-term bright display will greatly reduce the life of OLED I myself have two OLED TVs, one here and the other there, so I pay special attention to it when I use it normally. Shut down when you don’t need it, always thinking about not burning the screen and not burning the screen. To be honest, this kind of experience is quite annoying. Another disadvantage of OLED is the high cost and the improvement of resolution and panel area. Subject to the defect rate, the cost will increase exponentially, and the principle of chip defect rate is actually the same So is there any technology that can solve the shortcomings of all display panels? Of course, the fourth-generation display technology has begun to slowly become popular. Among them are laser display technology and Micro LED technology It is difficult to mass-produce laser display to be honest because the reason is that it is difficult to make three-color lasers together.
The mainstream solution is that green and red lasers rely on pure blue lasers and then excite phosphorous phosphors to achieve Therefore, the display solutions that lead to the realization of laser technology are not actually three-primary-color lasers in the true sense. In fact, similar to the previous three generations of display technology, they all have this inherent defect. So as the fourth generation display technology, I am not particularly optimistic about it. I won’t talk much about the topic of laser display in the future, and I will give you popular science in the future Today I will focus on Micro LED Micro LED is actually a technology that I think has no birth defects And the Samsung The Wall behind me is equipped with MicroLED Let me first explain to you the advantages of MicroLED technology and how these advantages are realized one by one.
The first point is that high-brightness MicroLEDs are essentially LED light-emitting diodes. LED technology is widely used in the second-generation display technology, that is, the solution of the backlight source of LCD technology. That is to say, what LED is good at is how exaggerated the brightness of lighting LED is. You can search keywords by yourself, such as LED flashlight highlighting, these keywords are available on YouTube and Bilibili The high-power LED flashlight can illuminate the night as exaggeratedly as the day Lighting also includes the film and television industry. For example, I am shooting a video at this moment, so I lit a few Atus photography lights. They use LED lamp beads, including the headlights on many cars now.
In fact, as the name suggests, Micro LED is an ultra-miniature LED. In fact, it is the predecessor of Micro LED technology. It is the kind of billboard that you often see outdoors in shopping malls. If you look closely, you can actually see clearly that each pixel is an LED lamp bead visible to the naked eye. Or those monochrome scrolling text screens seen in bank bus stops In fact, large-screen LED displays are essentially displays that use LED lamp beads as sub-pixels.
The difference is that each sub-pixel of MicroLED is super super super small At present, the consensus in the industry is that if the size of an LED is less than 100 microns, it can be called Micro LED. The LED flashlight in my hand has a LED lamp bead or LED chip with a diameter of about 5 mm. In short, the lamp bead chip is reduced by 100 times, so it is 50 microns, which is about the diameter of a hair. Then a 50-micron LED chip makes up a sub-pixel of this MicroLED TV This TV has nearly 25 million MicroLED chips because of its 4K resolution. Each ultra-miniature LED chip has the advantage of high brightness of LED Therefore, the maximum brightness excited by the light emitted by the entire panel can reach 2000nits In order to give everyone a deeper experience of how bright this TV is Let me compare the brightness of this TV with OLED and laser projection Then these different monitors play the same HDR source and you can clearly see the difference If you think the effect is nothing more than that, it is actually to take care of OLED and LCD Because MicroLED TVs are actually overexposed in most cases If I look at the zebra crossing on the camera to control the MicroLED TV in a reasonable exposure range Then the LCD and OLED are too dark to see clearly. If I say this, you still don’t feel shocked.
Then let me tell you again that this TV can only reach 2000nits Rather, the current film sources and usage scenarios are no longer suitable for Micro LED technology to continue to exert its strength. In other words, the HDR effect that MicroLED TV broadcasts now It's the best HDR effect I've ever seen, and the technology on this TV is only a fraction of the power What do you mean? First of all, watch HDR video as a TV in a normal environment. Many scenes have already made me feel uncomfortable after reaching high brightness For example, watching the scene of the sixth episode of the first season of "The Last Survivor" The scene that was supposed to be a dim table lamp turned out to have lit up half the room Instantly switch to daylight immediately after the next pure black scene Then the sunlight from the TV made me involuntarily yell shit So if it is not for the experience of the strongest HDR effect I usually use this TV to watch videos and play games without turning on the dynamic picture with the highest brightness The application scene with the highest brightness should actually be in the daytime or even under the background of strong light It will not make people look dazzling. For example, now I turn on two high-power photography lights When shooting this video, the laser projection next to me actually Everyone can see clearly, but they can't see clearly anymore. Then OLED TV will be better, but it will also become very dark.
But that doesn't affect MicroLED TVs in the slightest So the 2000nits of the TV product has actually exceeded the demand Why did I say just now that Micro LED has only played a small part? Because it also relies on MicroLED technology, a company called JBD in Shanghai, my country It has achieved the brightness of 2 million nits stimulated by Micro LED. You heard 2 million nits correctly. And they already have mass-produced products, you can pay attention to this company I am very proud that there is such a company with such technical reserves in China And occupy such an important track as Micro LED I personally feel that this company will definitely become a leader in the future So my videos over the past year or so have actually mentioned them multiple times And I will mention them again many times in today's video, so let's talk about it Micro LED technology can achieve brightness far exceeding 2000nits from the technical principle Why is this TV only doing 2000? It’s still the logic just now, because as a TV product, 2000 is already out of line, so there’s no need to make it brighter Moreover, Samsung's The Wall product line, in addition to this TV product for the consumer market, Micro LED technology is also used, for example, some outdoor display panels they make It can easily reach tens of thousands of nits. Here is a simple science popularization. The dynamic range of light received by the human eye is very large. Outdoors, you look at the sun at noon. Sunlight can reach hundreds of millions of nits, and the reflection of sunlight on flowers and plants can easily reach tens of thousands The reason you can still see something so bright is because everything in your line of sight is bright So your pupils shrink and let in less light, just like the aperture on a camera shrinks But in this environment, you can't see clearly on a 1000nits mobile phone. Because the brightness of the surrounding scenery is much higher than the brightness of the mobile phone In the same way, if you are in a very dark environment, such as when you are watching a movie or watching a TV series, The ambient illuminance may only be tens or hundreds of nits. At this time, the pupils of the human eyes will be dilated. Then the brightness inspired by the 1000 2000 HDR video will appear very dazzling So 2000nits of TV is already exaggerated enough Because in most cases, you still have to watch TV indoors, and the indoors will not be very bright.
That's why 2000 is already beyond the standard Why did I just mention that JBD, a manufacturer, still makes panels with millions of nits? That is for outdoor applications, such as using optical waveguides to reflect images onto the lenses of AR glasses. Then the loss in the process of the optical waveguide is surprisingly large, and most of the energy will be lost in the process of the optical waveguide So there are only AR glasses with Micro LED technology that can achieve millions of nits brightness Only in this way can you really see the content displayed on the glasses clearly even facing the sun This is why I have always believed in Micro LED display technology It is the only technical cornerstone that can realize real AR glasses products I have always had such a profound experience when I experienced Google Glass more than ten years ago Because Google Glass used an OLED panel at that time, it could only reach 150nits of brightness. So there is no way to use it outdoors, you have to cover the display module with your hands Then create a dark space so that you can see clearly what is displayed on the lens Just imagine the brightness that can achieve tens of thousands of nits or even millions of nits How scary will the future application of MicroLED technology be? Now that I have finally explained the first technical advantage of MicroLED, it is bright, right? Next, let me talk about the second advantage, which is super power saving. Compared with LCD, Micro LED only needs about 1/10 of the energy to achieve the same brightness level.
Only half the energy is needed to achieve the same brightness as OLED Of course, there is a special case here, that is, the efficiency of a single MicroLED chip is the highest within a certain range. The efficiency here is also called quantum efficiency Quantum Efficiency It means the number of photons excited by the same amount of electrons passing through the chip For example, on a 100-micron chip, if the 100-micron chip is reduced to 20 microns Then there may be a loss of up to 70% of the efficiency The reason is that the smaller the size of the chip, the larger the defect area will eventually lead to diminishing quantum efficiency But you don’t need to understand too much because Micro LEDs with a size of 50~100 microns In fact, it fully meets the current needs of large-screen display, even the size of Micro LED chips of 40~50 microns In fact, there is also a chance to make the display screen of watches and mobile phones. This time I want to mention the company JBD in Shanghai that I just mentioned Because the Micro LED panels they mainly develop and produce are just the opposite of Samsung’s. They mainly make ultra-small display panels For example, they can achieve 4KX5K resolution on a wafer the size of a thumb And I calculated that the chip size of each pixel will not exceed one micron And the distance between each LED is only 2.5 microns
And this 0.6-inch display panel can achieve a resolution of up to 4KX5K The brightness can still reach 1 million nits. The most important thing is that the power consumption will not exceed 200 milliwatts And it's still their product from two years ago, but it's worth mentioning that There is only one single color LED chip in green on this panel does not involve very complex The technical difficulty of transferring a huge amount of MicroLED chips of other colors to this wafer Regarding the topic of mass transfer, I will expand on it later and slowly talk about mass transfer, which is a very big topic. Even so, I still want to emphasize once again that JBD has a strong technical reserve and the future development prospects must be very large.
Let's talk about power saving. The typical power consumption of this 110-inch TV is about four to five hundred watts. It is estimated that an LCD TV of the same size needs at least 1000 watts if there is a 100-inch LCD TV This is not to mention that the brightness of Micro LED is much higher than that of LCD. Let me introduce the extremely power-saving feature of the MicroLED display panel Think about it, everyone, if it is applied to products such as mobile phones, watches, tablets, VR AR glasses, and laptops. The power consumption is several times smaller than the current mainstream LCD and OLED, and the brightness is higher Future mobile devices equipped with MicroLED display technology will at least double the battery life Especially the smaller the size of the device, such as this kind of AR VR glasses, the greater the benefit of battery life.
After talking about the advantages of power saving, Micro LED has another ultimate advantage, that is, it has an extremely long lifespan. As I said just now, the biggest disadvantage of OLED is that organic materials will age. Micro LEDs are different Micro LEDs use inorganic materials for excitation So the lifespan can easily exceed 150,000 hours. What is the concept of 150,000 hours? It takes 17 years for you to turn on this TV 7X24 hours a day to reach the design life And when the design life is up, it doesn't mean it's broken, but it may not be able to maintain the highest brightness. So this TV is called The Wall It means that if you don't care about the electricity bill, you can hang it on the wall and turn it on all the time. As an electronic photo frame or a message board Usually, it can display weather conditions, stocks, and the status of smart devices at home, and can also broadcast videos in carousel.
There are actually many other advantages, such as response speed Because each MicroLED is controlled by an independent IC The adjustment of lighting and brightness only needs to adjust the voltage on the upper and lower electrode layers. So it can achieve the same millisecond-level response time or even microsecond-level control as OLED The improvement of response speed can also achieve ultra-high refresh rate Even a one-millisecond response speed can be exchanged for a 1,000-hertz refresh rate The viewing angle is also natural to achieve the ultimate Because the MicroLED display panel can be directly made on the outermost layer On the outermost layer of the RGB chip, only one electrode layer is needed to encapsulate the protective layer. And there is no polarizer at all, in other words, the light from the MicroLED There is basically no light resistance and attenuation, so not only the efficiency is extremely high, but also because it is very close to the outer layer The viewing angle is very wide. In order to show you clearly, I disassembled this TV and let you have a look.
Of course, the color display effect of a TV screen is also very important. Because there is no filter and polarizing layer, the colors excited by MicroLED are very pure In addition, Micro LED can achieve accurate and independent addressing and control of each sub-pixel With Samsung's technical reserve as a global leader in display technology This TV's panel can handle and display a very exaggerated 20-bit color But it's a pity that there should be no video that can feed this panel on the earth now So I won't say much about this point. I think Samsung has overdone it. In theory, the contrast ratio is the same as that of OLED, which is infinite. But because there is a light-resistant layer on the outermost layer, when shooting against a strong light and facing the screen It may look gray, which is why the video I shot at the launch event of this product last year Some viewers posted barrages and said that the screen was not dark enough, in fact, it was because the ambient light at the exhibition site was too bright. But if in a normal indoor viewing environment Basically, it can achieve the same near-infinite contrast as OLED I'll take a picture of a pure black display to show you how you feel However, if you insist on comparing the super thin advantages of OLED and Micro LED, it will cause the display to be pure black. Theoretically, the reason why this effect is not as good as that of OLED is simply because there is an extra layer of polarizer on the outermost layer of OLED.
It is equivalent to causing you to not be able to see the organic light-emitting chips inside. But MicroLED can easily see the particles of each MicroLED chip But I mention this point to let you know more about the characteristics of Micro LED technology In terms of actual experience, it can be considered that the panel that is infinitely close to OLED displays the effect of black In addition, the pixel pitch of MicroLED TVs on such large-screen devices is relatively large. So in theory, it can be made transparent or even a flexible screen.
Speaking of which, I have mentioned all the advantages of Micro LED technology that I can think of. Let me briefly summarize for everyone that Micro LED has all the advantages of the previous three generations of display technology but has no shortcomings. The display technology of the previous three generations always has some innate deficiencies of one kind or another. In my opinion, all the technologies including the current mainstream mini LED partition backlight LCD and OLED are transitional The real future should be Micro LED. Friends here may be puzzled
This kind of high-tech TV sells more than 1 million, which is not a shortcoming. Let me add that the shortcomings I mentioned refer to congenital technical shortcomings and are unsolvable problems. For example, OLED organic materials must have a lifespan problem. LCD panels respond slowly and have a complex structure, which makes them relatively thick. These are all unsolvable shortcomings, but MicroLED technology has no inherent deficiencies The reason why the current price is so expensive is the problem of mass production, and mass production is not a congenital shortcoming As long as you find a suitable way to improve the method, you can greatly reduce the production cost Once the problem of mass production is overcome, Micro LED is almost the ultimate display solution And it can be applied in various scenarios From a giant screen to a high-precision screen as big as a fingernail that I just showed you Go outdoors with no compromises on this high-brightness screen or even a flexible screen So now that I'm here, I'll tell you how Micro LED is produced.
Where are the difficulties in mass production? After understanding the topics I will talk about next You can see why this TV is so expensive Let me first talk about how an ultra-miniature LED chip from 1 micron to 100 microns is made First prepare a sapphire wafer as a substrate using techniques such as vapor deposition or molecular beam epitaxy Let the LED crystal grow like a crystal, and the thin layer grows out. This part is called the epitaxial layer. After this layer of crystal grows out, use a photolithography machine to carve out the required size At this time, we can see LED chips of 1 micron to 100 microns one by one with a microscope magnifying glass. Speaking of which, the first reason for the high cost of Micro LED lies in the technical difficulty of producing LED particles. Just now I mentioned quantum efficiency, which means that the smaller the LED chip, the lower the efficiency of photons excited by electrons.
That is to say, ultra-small MicroLED panels may lose the advantage of power saving Therefore, it is a difficult problem to balance the size and power consumption of LED chips. The second difficulty is when the lithography machine engraves the LED crystal The smaller the edge of the crystal, the easier it is to be corroded, the greater the chance of causing dead and dark spots This will cause a defect rate when the LED chip is made on the substrate of the final product in the later stage The third difficulty lies in the corner effect LED chips of different colors are in the four corners Due to some reasons of material properties, the direction and intensity of light emission will be different Need to further improve the process to solve And red and green LED chips are more difficult to make than blue chips That involves a common limitation of electromagnetic wave wavelengths and materials so it's just growing crystals for LEDs We have already encountered various limitations and constraints of materials and processes. The growth of the LED crystal is completed. At this time, the LED crystal is still on the wafer, right? At this time, the laser is used to knock down the LED particles into pieces and temporarily place them on the temporary basic board. The three colors of substrate RGB of single-color LED particles need to be batched thus deposited or molecular beam epitaxy from their sapphire wafer substrates LED crystals are grown and fixed in batches on temporary substrates This step is the legendary mass transfer, and it is also one of the most difficult steps in mass production of Micro LED. When a sufficient number of batches of RGB crystal particles of different colors are fixed on the temporary substrate Then the second mass transfer can be carried out, which is to transfer the LED particles of different colors on the temporary substrate The substrate of the final display panel is lasered again in a similar manner After this step is completed, we can place on the substrate of the final display panel Seeing the particles of 25 million LEDs, the completion of this step is equivalent to the completion of the second mass transfer It might sound simple to you, but there's a lot of craftsmanship involved in each of these steps There is also the limitation of technical bottleneck and the second mass transfer implemented by laser It is actually a huge technological breakthrough in the traditional process of producing LED panels In the industry it is called pick and place The most traditional solution is to pick them up one by one and pile them up one by one. I told you about this craft last year.
If a 4K resolution display panel with 25 million LED chips adopts this solution Then it may take thousands or even tens of thousands of hours to produce a panel. There is no way to achieve mass production, so to achieve mass production, a huge amount of transfer technology is required Even if 10,000 LED chips are transferred at one time, it needs to be transferred 2,500 times Therefore, many institutions and manufacturers are researching feasible, reliable and efficient mass transfer methods One of the more feasible ideas is the batch pick-up and batch release method In fact, there are many ways to realize this method. For example, you can use electrostatic force. Magnetic attraction can be used or intermolecular forces, namely van der Waals forces, can be used The principle of these methods is actually to generate pickup force through various methods. Then pick up LED particles batch by batch and release them to the corresponding substrate position However, these solutions either have low yield or high cost or poor craftsmanship. In short, each has its own problems. Now each company is developing different solutions. One thing is worth mentioning. The main driver of the electrostatic force method is a Micro LED research and development company called LuxVue It was acquired by Apple in 2014, so in the past 9 years, some people in the industry have been speculating Apple's self-developed MicroLED technology will soon be applied to consumer products And there is a high probability that it is applied to the Apple Watch, which Apple has always used as a cutting-edge technology test field.
The worst name in this industry is a media called Dianwan Technology Repeatedly misled audiences in previous video programs and live broadcasts and then blindly raised consumers' expectations But in the past few years, I have been slapped in the face by Apple because it is obvious that after Apple completed this acquisition did not successfully complete the research and development of their mass transfer technology Speaking of this, everyone should already know that last year Samsung completed a breakthrough in laser mass transfer technology. Reduced the cost of producing large-screen MicroLED TVs by 50% This is how The Wall's third-generation To C market TV came out. Of course, the laser mass transfer technology is obviously not yet perfect. The biggest problem is that the wafers used to grow LED particles are only a few inches in size.
As a result, every time the LED particles are transferred by laser, they are limited to the area of several inches. You have to complete a 4K panel with 25 million LED lamp beads I personally estimate that it will take close to 1000 hours to conservatively speculate In other words, simply producing such a display panel requires continuous production for more than a month. Here's why you're buying this TV right now even if you have over a million It takes nearly three months from when you place a deposit to when the TV is delivered to your home In addition to laser mass transfer, each company has its own unique process and solutions.
For example, what I didn't mention just now is to open the LED crystal-sized groove on the substrate in advance. Then use liquid to flush batches of LED crystals and let them fall into the corresponding slots of the substrate by themselves. What other scrolling printing solutions are there? In short, various solutions are all to solve the same problem. mass transfer When can a huge amount of 25 million Micro LED chips be transferred to the substrate in one hour When the production cost can drop by 99%, everyone can sell it at a price of 1,000 yuan or 10,000 yuan Bought this MicroLED TV Even mass transfer Once there is a reliable solution to produce Micro LED panels for mobile phones MicroLED panels for watches and other products have the possibility of using MicroLED technology If there is no mass transfer technology, it may take hundreds or thousands of hours to produce a 2K resolution mobile phone screen Then everyone will never be able to use mobile phones, computers and watches equipped with Micro LED technology.
I'm here to reveal my personal expectations I think judging from my experience In 3 to 5 years, Micro LED technology should start to be applied in batches in the consumer market It seems that OLED screens were expensive a long time ago when OLED technology was just popularized. However, with the improvement of mass production technology and craftsmanship, in 2023, which is this year You can buy a good quality OLED TV for a few thousand yuan This is the Micro LED that we could not have imagined 10 years ago. It must be the same. Everyone should have confidence All technology has to go through this process, let's talk about it Except that there is no particularly effective and efficient mass transfer technology, so the current cost is relatively high There is another reason that will lead to the high cost of Micro LED products That is the bad rate Even with a 99.999% yield rate, 25 million lamp beads on a 4K resolution panel will produce 250 dead pixels To achieve a perfect screen requires a yield of 99.999999%
This requires a very exaggerated degree in the process of mass transfer and precision So Samsung’s solution is to make the screen modular, and the yield rate of each small screen can be increased by several orders of magnitude. Combine a lot of small screens into one big screen, so that the defect rate of the whole machine can be minimized Yes, you heard it right. In fact, this TV is spelled out with a total of 192 modules of this size. Spelled out this 110-inch 1.1 million TV combined with the LED chip growth and lithography machine engraving technology I mentioned just now
In addition, does this method of modularization to improve yield sound familiar to you? Think about it, everyone. It is the same technology used to produce computer CPU chips. The transistors on the chip are engraved by a photolithography machine, and the large chip has a defect rate problem In recent years, both AMD and Intel have been making efforts to make this kind of small chip chiplet. Then the solution of assembling large chips is very similar to the solution of producing Micro LED In fact, many ideas of advanced technology are interoperable, which is really interesting. Let’s talk about the splicing screen. Many people may think that such a high-end TV is not high-end enough if you spell it out. In fact, although this splicing screen is said to have seams, it does have the disadvantage of seams.
But in fact, you are only half a meter away, especially after turning on the screen, you can’t see it at all. But the benefits brought by the splicing screen are much greater. The improvement of the yield rate is mentioned just now. Another thing you will never think of is that you are not afraid of damage Think about such an expensive TV, if it gets bumped and broken, you don’t have to worry Because even if the screen is really broken, it is only one of the 192 yuan. Unlike LCD and OLED, if the inner screen is broken, the whole assembly will be scrapped. Repair of MicroLED is very simple Just take off which piece is broken and put a new one on it, it’s like putting together Lego I'm almost done talking about the technical part. Thank you for listening to this. I have tried my best to explain a lot of complicated techniques, and I think I have explained them thoroughly enough.
In order to make this video for everyone to see, I had to force myself to barely sleep for a few days Then use the world's most expensive and top-notch TV to watch HDR movies, watch TV series and play games To be honest, I think I am very lucky to be able to deeply experience this high-end TV that represents the future From the perspective of the whole world, apart from me, there should be only those big bosses worth over 100 million Maybe I just bought a TV of this level. I am one of the few dozens of people who are lucky enough to feel the technology of the future. At the same time, the viewers of our channel are also lucky because I can use the real machine To share with you the world's top technology, but it is a pity that Even shooting HDR with a movie camera can't record the shocking feeling of facing this TV at the scene Therefore, if you have the opportunity in the future, please go to experience the Micro LED display technology offline. Dear friends in Shenzhen, you are blessed. The 24th of this month is tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
When will I post this video? You can come to Luohu Fuyuan Crowne Plaza Hotel to participate A product tasting meeting held by Samsung and me On the 24th, I will explain all aspects of MicroLED TV to you on the spot Welcome to the scene to experience the shock from The Wall For friends from other places, I will briefly share the experience of using this TV Maybe you can feel the details of some TV these days I have watched a lot of Hollywood first-line movies I basically watched all the movies of Avengers and Marvel Then because of the ultra-high detail performance and ultra-high picture quality I can actually see the slight out-of-focus shot by Hollywood-level movie cameras many times It won't be visible on any other screen because the picture is so clear and the colors are so vibrant on this TV In some scenes, for example, two people are in a conversation at about the same focal plane This difference in distance from the lens is only possible a little But on this TV, you can clearly see that one person's face is in focus and the other person is a little out of focus. In addition, I will share another detail. I used this TV to see the problem of the dead point of the CMOS of the film camera for shooting TV dramas. Everyone can go and watch the first season of "The Last Survivor" starting at 41 minutes and 51 seconds, the sixth episode There is a dead center of the camera at the lower left corner of the left It means that there was a pixel chip on the CMOS of the camera that was filming the TV series was broken. Traditional TV is hard to see And it shows that the crew has no money and has been using a machine to shoot TV dramas, or it's a problematic machine They may be because they don't have a monitor of the level of MicroLED It's really hard to see such a bad pixel Then let me briefly talk about the industry status of Micro LED technology I just mentioned that Apple acquired LuxVue as early as 2014. This incident gave me a very strong sense of sight. 10 years ago, Apple also relied on the acquisition of related industries and teams. Then after 10 years of research and development of its own ARM architecture chip The result is obvious, right? Apple got rid of the constraints and limitations of Intel chips.
With its excellent energy consumption ratio, it now dominates the consumer electronics market The intention of acquiring LuxVue is also very obvious, that is, to get rid of the status quo that Samsung supplies Apple screens LCD and OLED panels represented by second-generation and third-generation display technologies Samsung is Apple's largest supplier of display panels Screens as large as high-end laptops as small as Apple Watch screens Both have the shadow of Samsung, so Apple obviously wants to seize the opportunity before this fourth display technology comes. Make the closed loop of your own products more solid and then further control costs to obtain the maximum profit Samsung is certainly not idle as one of the companies with the most cutting-edge display technology on the planet In addition to Apple and Samsung, which have been leading in the field of Micro LED technology The company Meta also acquired InfiniLed, a Micro LED research and development company, as early as 2016. Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and even many manufacturers in China We are also actively preparing for this upcoming market competition in the future. They are also laying out domestic plans in advance. For example, China Star Optoelectronics Leyard JBD, BOE Hisense Konka They all have some breakthroughs or reserves related to Micro LED technology I can see this all too clearly because I'm in the tech industry. It is almost indisputable that MicroLED technology is the future However, in the next ten years, there will not be a situation where a certain technology dominates The more likely scenario is that second-generation technology, LCD Still relying on various tinkering techniques to try to keep their sinking market The third generation technology OLED will further reduce the cost At the same time, technologies such as silicon-based MicroOLEDs, which have been very popular in recent years, will also be derived.
To further popularize the fourth-generation technologies in the mass consumer market, including laser display and Micro LED These two technologies will further reduce costs after gradually opening up the high-end market and then penetrate downwards In other words, the technologies of the three generations will flourish in the next ten years, and they will each occupy their respective target markets. One thing that is certain is that Micro LED technology will gradually solve all current technical bottlenecks and production bottlenecks. At the same time, unique applications for various segments will also be derived and are now seeing trends For example, JBD just mentioned their half-inch modules that can achieve monochrome display up to millions of nits. It does not involve the technical difficulty of mass transfer at all, and directly utilizes LED crystals grown on wafers After the etching is completed, use three sets of modules of different colors and then cooperate with the prism In fact, an AR display solution can be perfectly made, taking into account miniaturization, high energy consumption, and high brightness.
At the same time, because it does not involve mass transfer technology, it can also achieve very low cost Entering the fourth generation of display technology, our technology industry is about to usher in a reshuffle Small factories with technical strength will also have the opportunity to overtake on curves and become the next leader Let me talk to you about these, which are actually the biggest differences in my content. I will explain the technology to you and at the same time show you the charm of this cutting-edge technology We will also provide you with an in-depth analysis of the current status and prospects of the technology industry. These contents are the hardcore I understand, but it is a pity that These perspective analyzes and insights that I personally think are extremely valuable are compared with the current short video The current situation of further fragmentation of information runs counter to Fewer and fewer viewers have the patience to watch such a long video But everyone knows my temper has never been a big one I do this kind of content with my style and get viewers who like my style of video I think this is also very good. I think this video is too deep, too dry and too long. You really can't fool the audience without some gimmicks, so thank you for seeing this If you think the video is valuable to you, the best way is to watch the entire video and help me increase the completion rate of the video Then forward it to your friends. Of course, I mentioned that I forwarded it now, and I will start talking about the activity of buying a TV and giving away a Tesla. Because I am now an industry agent for the new media industry of Samsung's MicroLED product line Then on the video platform, that is, the new media platform It is naturally part of my job to help out with the announcement of Micro LED technology and products Video creators like me who don’t usually take ads often don’t rely on pretending to be crazy to cheat traffic everywhere.
Although it is no problem to survive by earnestly doing content But it is still a bit difficult to get further development Relying on past experience to see occasional advertisements for some high-quality products, plus we have done e-commerce ourselves But doing so seems to be not much different from other people who do technology media. So my partner Lao Zhu and I have been discussing the path suitable for our development. The two of us have always been unanimous in our decision to work hard on the content and make long-term preparations while developing our network and resources. When the time comes, I think there will be good development, and this is actually the way that suits our company. And the audience of our channel is really unique. Many industry leaders and CEOs of many companies are our audience.
To be honest, I am very proud of this. I believe that with the accumulated resources, we will gradually grow bigger and more stable. In fact, it also proves this point. Being an agent of Samsung this time is a very good development direction. So in order to seize this opportunity, I said that I am serious about buying a TV and sending a car.
However, this high-cost method actually has a high risk. So the car delivery event is only for the sale of the first TV And we only verify referrers identified by the final TV buyer That is to say, if both A and B are forwarded to C to see, or there is a sequence or a relationship between the upper and lower layers As long as C buys this TV, we only recognize an introducer appointed by C By the way, if you buy the car yourself without an introducer, the mechanism of sending the car to you is still in effect, and it will be given to you The original intention of formulating this event is to spread the video Therefore, I will definitely deal with all those behaviors that intend to use the activity mechanism or exploit loopholes. After all, the right to interpret this event is still in my hands to give Tesla Model 3 There will be other giveaways after the event If there is a sale for a second TV maybe I'm going to give away an Apple laptop The rules for the third one, such as sending a mobile phone, are the same. In the end, I still have to say a few more words because The Wall product line is actually quite complicated. Please bear with me this TV behind me is the third generation of The Wall Samsung has made a consumer-grade product, that is, a TV, but this TV is not just a TV. Many To B scenes can also be used, such as the display screen of the conference large screen museum Then the large screen in the central control room or even the display screen in a luxury store There are also such on-site display screens for large-scale events and such display screens in the lobby auditorium If your budget is sufficient, it can be spliced It can even be assembled into a special effect screen that looks like a waterfall from top to bottom in a shopping mall Or cover the entire wall in an art gallery to display your visual art After all, The Wall was a To B product for these scenarios in the second generation For example, in our company, let me show you The second generation of The Wall, which has been in our company for more than half a year, has been used as the background board for our videos Even in the film and television industry, there is a usage called pre-post special effects For example, when shooting a movie in a studio, compared to using a green screen for keying and then doing special effects in post-production In fact, it can be shot directly with the virtual reality scene spelled out by The Wall Because of the MicroLED display technology, its color brightness and various picture indicators are very close to the real scene.
So the concept of post-production special effects front-end has slowly formed a trend in Hollywood. Instead of spending a lot of money on special effects in the later stage, it is better to directly purchase a lot of Micro LED screens and put them together in your studio Then this kind of one-time investment can be used all the time. In fact, it is more cost-effective and more efficient. I just took advantage of this video to show you what post-production special effects are. After introducing these To B applications, I would like to add that I am the agent of the entire MicroLED product line. So whether it is To B or To C products, whether it is the second generation or the third generation screen Whether it is this splicing or you need to form various special-shaped screens or even make a unique plan If you have any needs, you can contact us directly By the way, I would like to add that the second generation To B plan is quoted by square meter and area Anyway, if you have a need, just email us directly.
The email address is here, but unfortunately it is a Tesla gift event You can only participate by purchasing the 110-inch third-generation To C product of The Wall, which is this TV However, except for this TV, we have discounts on the prices of other MicroLED product lines. If your company has procurement or needs for customized solutions, please contact us Well, let me introduce you at the end. Don’t forget about our exhibition in Luohu on the 24th, which is the day after tomorrow. If you are in Shenzhen, you want to come and join in the fun. Welcome That's all for today we'll see you next video Bye bye
