Thailand's Glow-in-the-Dark Ocean is Pure Magic
oh my God the waters literally glowing in the dark I've never seen anything like it so I've heard stories about these these Waters that glow in the dark and apparently it's just off the shores of the island of Phuket just just somewhere right out there and I don't know if it's real or if it's fake if people are just telling Tall Tales but I'm going to try and find them and to do that there's only one guy that I could think of to ask there he is there okay Sean I've heard that there's these glow-in-the-dark Waters out there if there's anyone that would know it's you is Israel so my I've been told it's real I got this guy to my team his name's Alex he's the expert of that area so today he's going to take you out there and if you find that bioluminescence I reckon he'll have to build a whole tour out of it so I get to be a guinea pig is that what you're saying very first time that we've ever done this so good luck take some great photos so we're gonna see if it's real I'm gonna take you up on that offer life here is Pretty Tough at retired working for you I actually have to sacrifice my day and head out into the Waters of Phuket and meet this local guide Alex see if it's a tour that uh that's worth putting on the five star list and if it is maybe you guys will be able to take it but let's find out so Alex we meet again hello again Alex is the best guide in all of Phuket he grew up on the sea and he knows these Waters better than anyone he asked Sean recently if he could create his own custom bioluminescence tour and Sean told me that if I like it enough he'll say yes to Alex and offer it up but only to my viewers this is a big chance for Alex so let's see if his itinerary gets the stamp of approval arrived for lunch Alex what is it some sort of floating village this is a floating restaurant but you can see some local people they're doing a fish farm right here yeah that's cool it's like little floating houses over there people casting and catching fish yeah and then they serve it up right here in the restaurant right [Music] let me show you this place fresh seafood yeah it's like little pens full of fish oh oh there's a big grouper down there different kinds of fish this wouldn't be the easiest place to get to but if you love seafood and you love a unique experience then coming to this restaurant that's just floating here in the middle of the sea is an amazing way to start the day I Gotta Give yearly points Alex is going to order up but we've just met a uh someone out here in the floating restaurant what's your name uh Steve and you were saying I'm watching on YouTube all the time and how did you find this place well the way out here I'm with my wife and all my Thai friends oh nice yeah it's a good spot oh yeah does this place get your seal of approval yes it does very good very delicious [Music] we got a standard a cow pad a fried rice with chicken and then another staple really nice looking sometime and then of course we got a local fried fish here look at this oh my goodness give him a little kiss even oh yeah buddy that's the kiss of death and last but certainly not least this tray of fresh clams right from the sea this deserves a little slow-mo food porn for you oh drippy chili sweet wow spicy I gotta say so I'm gonna finish this up and then it's back on the water [Music] so Alex it's so calm out here today Yes actually the boat able to go Panda Bay all year round oh this is one of my favorite places in all the Thailand man and it's so amazing when you get out here and the water's super peaceful and calm so what are we doing next uh we're going to see the cave and Lagoon we might do some swimming in the lagoon today sounds good it gets rougher and rougher by the minute out here yeah welcome to panga Bay this place is lined with spectacular Limestone rock formations they almost jut right out of the sea in impossibly gorgeous formations they got prehistoric like jungle just growing off the sides of them it's one of my favorite natural landscapes in the whole world and we're gonna take the boat right through there and Dipsy Doodle around that Little Rock [Music] so what's this stop all about Alex jump on the canoe and then we get to see a two different cave between Mangrove cave and Diamond cave Lagoon oh time to do some lagoons swimming yeah oh time to get my Tarzan on just jump in this raft here let's see what awaits hey Alex have you ever seen a movie called Inception nope well it goes a little something like this oh really okay oh I think this one looked like a Jurassic World we're going into Mangrove cave and the tide is pretty high right now so uh you kind of gotta lie right down in the boat oh it's getting dark and spooky in here I see light at the end of our tunnel oh not only late whoa Mangrove forests [Music] I've been in here before but never when the water's this High yeah I think most of the time people will come when it's low tide they just walk wow [Music] you know I've been doing this for 16 years I never see that plant grow bigger it's still the same [Music] um these two so many people and the last one I did they were all gathered around a monkey on a beach like 50 tour after app so that it's just me and there's a friend over here peacefully eating this shell you can hear the jungle you guys got to experience a day on the water with Alice there's a monkey killing me [Music] in the middle of a mangrove forest here I've never experienced this before I've seen monkeys in Thailand I've seen mangroves in Thailand this time today for the first time Alex man like I feel like we're right in the heart of nature man I wish one day you came here and then we have a little bit rain it's even better oh that would be epic I'll come again man if you'll have me I'll come back anytime a plus for stop number two Alex I can't wait to see what's next best occurrence rushing out of here you can feel the breeze blowing in that's the one thing about coming out here to hang a bay is the water levels go up and down so dramatically that at one point in time you could walk in here sometimes you could walk in they could fill up and then you get stuck in there that's why you definitely want to be with uh someone who knows the waters and knows the time right our boat's just out over there the next stop on today's magical tour is called Diamond cave Alex is paddling us there now the next Lagoon that we're going to is just just around the corner and this is the one where I'm gonna take a little dip this is the start of diamond cave this cave [Music] we can barely fit through here oh this one is tight look at this there's literally inches on all sides of us this is why they call it Diamond cave [Music] oh yeah sparkly [Music] that's my actual view right now holy cow Alex [Music] I can't believe this is real man that when you come out of the cave at the end there that was so spectacular oh yeah this is what I love the thick thick jungle [Music] from the outside it just looks like a giant rock and then you would have guessed it was kind of just one solid rock you get in here it's like a whole other planet so you just let me know when it's time to go swimming man yeah [Music] this looks like a scene from a horror movie but I'm gonna go full on retired working for you guys oh my God Alex is Muddy oh my God I'm oh if you could feel the bottom it's literally knee-deep mud look at that here's my attempt at showing you guys the scale of this place as I sink in the mud down here I'm up to my knees [Music] is that didn't get any idea how crazy this Lagoon is mud it's actually it's actually frightening oh my God let me see if you can see the how deep this this mud went this is nuts holy crap man that's crazy is there no creatures down there is that like a mud massage yeah well what a whimper yeah Alex is saying it's a free mud massage here I am freaking out but I gotta say it is a little odd [Music] good super sturdy sea canoeing mission number one complete check this out a little pop-up uh hose so then I can wash off the remnants of the mud bring the muddy knee experiment next up Hong Island [Music] foreign [Music] oh yeah look at that the teeth the eye and then the body piranha rock baby let me give you a sense of scale of how big that thing is so I'm in the middle of Hong Island now I've I've rigged up a a little life preserver and it's like I'm just sitting here floating in a crazy secret little Lagoon and Alex it just makes me want to ask you man like what's it like for you growing up as a kid on the water in Thailand yes when I was young I always on the water I'd like to go on the beach so when I start to working I just want to make sure I will go in the water again so yeah my first job actually I do a lot of kayaking so yeah it is what I love to do and you know when I move to Five Star Marina they bought me this you know I said wow you know it's like everything come back the same you know so is it like a dream job now and so to to have the chance to design your own tour what how does that make you feel oh you know when you work for some company and you always have beautiful ideas but no one listen to you but you feel really bad but with the five-star Marine I always like oh John I want to doing this and he always make it happen you know yeah well we're we're halfway through the day maybe a little bit more I haven't given it my full stamp of approval just yet Alex so the jury's out by the end of this video though we might have a custom Alex tour here of this thank you and so where are we gonna go after we're done floating here in Long Island we're going to see James Bond Allen but we just drive the boat went by and then take a picture yes money Penny Bond here James Bond send me through the coordinates yes I'm five minutes away from that Island I will exterminate with extreme prejudice [Music] that was my James Bond thing that's James Bond Island the famous James Bond Island most people take a long tail boat out here and that's their highlight of their panga Bay experience but we're just doing a drive-by because this is the Alex tour that is a good spot to take some photos but it's nowhere near as cool as the private places that we went out today in hey Alex what what's after James Bond Island we're going to see sunsets Sunset that's the we we've started the book I've never come out on a boat at 12 30. that was our departure time I've always gone out in the morning it's kind of nice the sun's getting close to setting we're gonna see where Alex takes us for that and then it's off to the bioluminescence cheers Morgan thanks for the beer we used to work together it's all my friends really yeah and so you know they'd have a beer for us Alex that's kind of cheating man like you're pulling out beers at sunset this guy really wants a tour to go down bonus points yet again for Alex's tour Sean it's getting close where the sun is about to set but my decisions almost made [Music] so Alex is this where we're parking for Sunset yep it's beautiful if we make this trip we should bring some beer for customer I think it's a lot of fun and really enjoy well that's that this is the point in the video where I asked them to drop a comment do you guys think that Alex should bring beers when you come out and enjoy the trip for Sunset he we we you managed to get him at a floating bar over there but drop a comment below beers yes or beers no [Music] all right it's time it's pitch black out we're getting back on the canoe Alex has got his headlamp on and we're gonna go see if we can find these glow-in-the-dark Waters so Alex is paddling us out here it's pitch black middle of the end of NC this is an experience of itself I've never done this before to give you a sense as to how dark it is let's kill the light just for a second get crazy Alex uh where are we heading man I can't see anything I just want to go under the overhangs and then you get to see grow in the dark 100 all right wow wow [Music] look at that streaks are light oh yeah it's very bright tonight okay oh my God the water's literally glowing in the dark I've never seen anything like it crap you can just flick your hands and it's like Sparks starting to fly oh do you see it yep have you ever seen this on the camera honestly I never see on the camera yeah I can see it but barely this is the classic example of something that you have to see for yourself I'm trying to capture this but this is what the naked eye was invented for this is an absolute trip we're floating in the middle of the sea all alone with Alex splashing glow in the dark water all over the place you got a blanket of stars above you I've I I've never done anything like this man dude this is spectacular all right man let's head back to the boat there she is look at it floating in the night and I'll give you my final verdict Alex okay all right Alex I gotta say this was the best day I've ever had on the water man you gotta have a good time right yeah yeah good time and I'll tell you what I'm gonna see if we can get Sean on the line here and uh we'll see if we can make this an actual
