Do you want to know what are the places to visit in Hyderabad? Do you also want to know what you will get to eat and shop there? Do you like to increase your knowledge and like to know about the history and culture of new places? If yes to any of these questions, then today's special video is for you. Hyderabad is one of the few places in the country where you get to see the present and the past at the same time. Today, Hyderabad is the second-largest IT hub in the country, the fourth-largest city and the sixth largest metropolitan area in the country, as well as the fifth-largest urban economy.

And among all this, the rich and centuries-old history of Hyderabad is also present. First of all, I have reached the symbol of Hyderabad and the most iconic monument here, the Charminar. In celebration of the establishment of Hyderabad and the eradication of the pandemic cholera, the fifth sultan of the Qutub Shahi dynasty, Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah, built Charminar. Its work began in 1589 and was completed two years later in 1591 and a total of Rs. 9 lakhs were spent at that time. There is still a mosque in the upper floor of Charminar, which is one of the oldest mosques in Hyderabad.

Old Hyderabad was designed by Persian designers so that Charminar could be right in the center of it. In Indo-Islamic and Persian style, this timeless beauty made of granite, limestone and crushed marble is called Charminar because of these four towers, whose height is 56 meters, i.e. 184 feet each. To reach the top, you have to climb 149 stairs.

Do you know that Hyderabad is also called the City of Pearls? Your shopping experience in the markets around Charminar is going to be very good, especially in Laad Bazaar, which is famous for bangles and pearls. And yes, you will need a lot of bargaining skills here. I have just walked 10 minutes from Charminar to reach Chowmahalla Palace. But before moving ahead, let's know about the timeline of Hyderabad. From 13th to 16th century, the Sultans of Delhi, Bahamani and Qutub Shahis ruled here.

Hyderabad was founded in 1591. By 1724, the Asaf Jahs, who had worked under the Mughals, who were also called Nizam later on, made Hyderabad the capital of the Hyderabad Princely State. In 1947, India gained independence, but Hyderabad itself wanted to remain an independent state and became part of India only in 1948.

As I just told you, the Nizams of Hyderabad ruled here from 1724 to 1948 for 224 years. And Chowmahalla Palace was their official residence and seat of power. But today it is a heritage site and museum for the public. The Nizams were very interested in architecture, arts and education. If we talk about architectural styles, then here you will find a beautiful fusion of many architectural styles like Rajasthani and Persian.

This place will take you less than two hours to explore. It is as important to know about history as it is to have fun. Not just the children, but all of us. And now I am pointing towards Ramoji Film City!!! The largest film city in the world, which is located 40 km away from Hyderabad and has an area of 1666 acres, is for people of all ages and interests. It is no less than a paradise for movie lovers.

You must have been wondering how the movie sets are and what happens behind the camera to make a movie. You will get the answer to all this here. You can enjoy many amazing shows here as well as try fun and adventure activities. Just like fun, it is also important to eat and drink. If you are in Hyderabad and it is time to have breakfast, then start your day with Iranian tea and Osmania biscuits, as most of the Hyderabadis do.

By the way, numerous cafes and restaurants are suggested for this purpose. I tried Nimrah Cafe and Bakers and my experience was quite good. This cafe has been here for 30 years in front of the Charminar. If it is time to have lunch or dinner or if you feel like it, then do try the Hyderabadi Biryani.

In this biryani, along with the spices of Mughals, the flavours of South India are mixed to give a taste of sourness and spiciness. It is said that if you didn't eat the biryani of paradise, then it is useless to come to Hyderabad. I have never seen so much love and respect for biryani anywhere else. Now that we have talked about food, let's go on a hike to the historic Golconda Fort. In the 11th century, when a Telugu dynasty, which was called Kakatiya, used to rule here, then Golconda was the diamond capital of the world. Because at that time, the only diamond mine in the world was in Golconda's Kollur, from where some special diamonds of the world such as Koh-i-noor and Hope Diamond were extracted.

At that time, Kakatiya King Prataparudra I had built a clay fort here. Later, Bahamani rulers came here, and then Qutub Shahis, who built high walls of 4 to 5 km in the circumference of this fort and made it a safe fort. In this fort, you can see 8 gateways, and 4 drawbridges, which could be pulled during difficult times, temples, mosques, royal palaces, granaries, etc.

There were secret passages here and there was also a very good quality water supply system. As soon as you enter the fort, you will reach the clapping portico. This is because earlier people were alerted to the people above the fort by clapping from here during difficult times.

The specialty of this portico is that the sound of clapping reaches the highest point of the fort very easily. So, Qutub Shahis ruled here from the year 1518 to 1591 and this was their capital before Hyderabad. Do you remember that the work of Charminar was completed that year and the capital was also shifted? After diamond, this place was known a lot because of cotton and they were being exported to Persia and European countries as well as Eastern countries.

In the year 1687, Aurangzeb took this place under his control and after the Mughals, the Nizams of Hyderabad started ruling here. And today this place is one of the most popular attractions of Hyderabad. And it is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India.

So to reach the fort on the small granite mountain you have to climb 150 stairs and it takes 10 to 15 minutes. This is the highest point of the fort which is Darbar Hall. But it is not allowed to go inside. And this side is Maa Kali's temple. Let's go.

Here is Ma aJagdamba. And for Maa Kali's temple, let's go this side. There is another way to go up from the side of the temple where you will get to see a cannon. In different parts of the fort, you will get to see more cannons. Did you know that along with the city of Nizams and the city of pearls, Hyderabad was also called the city of lakes? There are many man-made and natural lakes here. And now you are looking to the right at Hussain Sagar Lake which connects the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

This heart-shaped lake was built in 1563 by the 4th Qutub Shah Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah Wali and it is named after the architect Hussain Shah Wali. This lake is people's favorite evening spot here. The main attraction of this lake is this monolithic Buddha statue made of granite which is 58 feet i.e.

18 meters high and weighs 350 tons. It is said that this is the highest monolithic Buddha In the World! You can easily reach here by boating. You will get boats from Lumbini Park which is another attraction around here. There is a lot to do around Hussain Sagar. In the southeast, there is Snow World.

In the south, there is Lumbini Park, NTR Garden, Shri Ambedkar Ji's 125 feet tall statue and Prasad's Multiplex. In the eastern end, there is Necklace Road where an evening walk becomes a memorable experience. Even in a metropolitan city like Hyderabad, if you want peace or a perfect sunset, then go to Birla Temple without thinking twice. This temple was opened by Ramakrishna Mission's Swami Ranganathananda in 1976. In this huge temple built on a small hill of 280 feet height, a total of 2000 tones of pure marble has been used.

Lord Venkateshwara is worshipped here, whose 11 feet tall granite statue is the main statue of the temple. This is being shown on the 7th number of this video. This does not mean that this is any kind of ranking, because it comes in the top 3 of everyone's list.

You can see this museum at the same time as Charminar and Chowmahalla Palace. But yes, make sure to save 4-5 hours for this place. Salar Jung family was one of the wealthiest and most powerful families of Hyderabad and they were appointed as Prime Minister of the Nizams.. So, this museum was named after Salar Jung III, whose real name was Mir Yusuf Ali Khan.

He was so fond of collecting art and artifacts that he spent a large part of his income and many years of his life collecting the arts and artifects. There are more than 1.1 lakh Indian, Middle Eastern, Far Eastern, and European artifacts in this museum including Paintings, Manuscripts, Furniture, Textiles, Ceramics, Carpets, Clocks, Sculptures etc. There are so many categories that it is difficult to document. So, it is very important to know which unique things you should not miss at all.

Let's see. First of all, we will see the musical clock, which is called the Bracket Clock. It was made by Cooke and Calvey of England in the 19th century. Believe me, this is not an ordinary clock. The specialty of this 200-year-old clock is that you can find out the month and year from it.

But people from all over the country come to see a a toy-shaped soldier who comes out of a specific door in the clock every hour and He rings the gong/bell without making a mistake, like once at 1 o'clock and 12 times at 12 o'clock, and then he goes inside without making any delay. As it is 2 o'clock now, he rang the bell twice. The 'Veiled Rebecca' comes in second place which was made by an Italian artist G. M. Benzoni. And the same year, Salar Jung I bought it during his trip to Rome, Italy. In this marble statue, the body of a lady and especially the veil covering her face is shown so delicately that it looks like a real veil is covering the statue/the lady.

Salar Jung I brought another artifact from his trip to Italy, which is called the Double Statue. On both sides of this wooden structure, you will see two different characters, which are inspired by a 19th-century play. There are a total of 38 galleries on the ground floor and 1st floor. There is also a cafeteria/restaurant on the ground floor so that you can stay energized and explore everything.

If you are coming with your kids on a trip to Hyderabad, then definitely take them to Snow World, which is near the Hussain Sagar Lake. This snow-themed park of 17,000 square feet is the world's third, India's first and the world's largest snow-themed park. First, you come to a temperature of 20 degree Celsius, then 0 degree Celsius and then minus 5 degree Celsius, which is always maintained in the snow zone. Here you can also experience snowfall.

200 tons of artificial snow was added here, which is cleaned every day and some tons of new snow is also added so that this complex is always safe for children. You can also try various activities here. This is not a personal collection like the Salarjung Museum.

In fact, the 7th Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan got all these things as a gift. This is an amazing collection of his. The 7th Nizam's wish was that the coming generations should definitely learn about their past. In this museum, you get to see a 176 feet long wardrobe of the 6th Nizam Mehboob Ali Khan which has two levels. It is said that he never wore any clothes again.

Here you can also see a 150 year old lift which was operated manually. Friends, Hyderabad has more places to visit but that's all for this video. If you like the video, please like and subscribe to the channel.

See you soon in another such episode. Till then, bye-bye, take care and keep traveling.
