Chitral Valley Heritage and Food Tour | Travel Pakistan
Lajeek, Shoola, and Kushtapakhti, Its name is so difficult, so how difficult will it be to make it And this is Galmandi. What was this? Khushtapakhti I learned the name, and now I won't pay you [Music] Assalam-o-Alaikum, Welcome to the new episode of Grip on Trip As you know, I am in Chitral, today we will explore the city of Chitral I love the location and colour of Shahi Masjid and Shahi Fort, we will visit there The way towards Shahi Fort from Shahi Masjid is quite beautiful We will explore that path, and roam around there 2-4 times There is a restaurant which is famous for original and traditional Chitrali food We will go there and try their food. Also, we will look into the city map We will see which road leads from where, how are the people here and what is their culture We will visit the old Chitral Shahi market, and explore it I have come to Chitral city after a long time The city has changed a lot, I came here 15 years ago So today we are going to explore Chitral city's culture, language, food, landscape and paths So, be ready My hotel is located at N45 Before entering Chitral this road is connected to Dir Chitral road When you travel towards DIR, this board on the bridge tells the distance to important places After the main bridge, this road becomes Chitral Mastuj Road, it leads towards Gilgit from Shindoor Top Right now I am standing at the main roundabout of the National Highway To enter the city of Chitral, I crossed one bridge at the back But this is the main bridge If we go straight, this road leads towards Rambur, Shindoor, Mastoor This is a legendary road but in very bad condition Here Kaghlash Meadow, Spishin Meadow, Gullain goal Apart from them, there are a few other points, at the end of all these locations you will reach Shindoor Then you will enter through Phandar in the area of Gilgit This is the same road that leads you towards beautiful destinations But the road is broken from this site, So we are going in the City car [Music] As you cross the main bridge and come to the other side of the bridge there are two more roads The road at my back goes towards Garam Chashma, where people go to boil eggs This same road going towards the Wakhan corridor This is Dooran Pass First is Lowari Pass, 2nd is Dooran Pass, 3rd one is the Shindoor Pass and the 4th is Wakhan corridor Chitral is connected with these four passes to the other parts of the World You can also see that point from here, where people go to see the Mountains of Tajikistan The last village is Gubor, After going a little further from there, you will see the mountains of Tajikistan Only a 10 km distance remains from there People ask why Tajikistan is not a part of Pakistan when it is only 10 km away I will tell you the reason after a while Arabs came to Chitral in the 7th century and then Islam started spreading here After that, the Mongols occupied it, which was taken back by the Turks During that period, many Mongols also became Muslims, this is the reason why the faces of many people here look like Mongols At that time, the name of this region was Chitrar, it later became Chitral This mosque is the most important and famous building in Chitral city and its name is Shahi Masjid which was built about 100 years ago by Raja Shuja-ul-Mulk.
You will see Mughal architecture in the construction of this mosque This mosque is also similar to Jama Masjid Delhi and Badshahi Masjid Lahore The original look of this mosque has now been changed, earlier its colour was red but I don't know why, now it has been painted white I was most disappointed to see the Mosque that the original colour and decoration of the mosque had been changed. All the things that have been whitewashed Old and historic buildings should be restored to their original condition It was a very beautiful mosque in red colour but by painting it white, its original condition has disappeared Only one dome at the back left side facing the river, is red in colour and the Minarets are Red The rest of other 3 domes are painted white and the entire mosque from the inside is also white I don't know why they have done this, is there any Islamic issue But we should not do this we should keep the historical things in their original form I don't like it in white paint Undoubtedly, the masjid is beautiful, the location is very good, and the inside is so great but I don't know, who does this white paint. Anyway let's go towards the Fort Now we are travelling from Shahi Masjid to Shahi Qilla (Fort) They are close to each other Masjid, Shahi Bagh and Shahi Qilla all are close to each other This fort is almost 250 years old, Its walls are made of wood and mortar Now this fort is changed into the residence of Shuja-ul-Mulk Chitral was a state in the Indian subcontinent at the times of the Colonial Era it was a Princess state Like Kalaat or Swat
