Show Video

Hello guys, and welcome to today's video today I will continue with my little Touring hopefully by the end of this episode there will also be an engine in it, but I wouldn't worry about that yet even if the frontend already fits quite well, but there are problems here and there, I'll show you let's start by saying that it fits quite well here on the left side because the turn signal at the end of the fender where it meets the bumper It's good, let's say we still need to adjust it a little here but the door is also quite good so is the gap it is also very well on the left side, sorry, on the right side here it fits very well with the door There is really no problem with it it is also nicely in the side plane the turn signal is also good again, here the bumper is a little lower, but it can also be adjusted up and down on the bracket, that won't be a particular problem but the problem is that this little tab it sticks out too much and it's not like metal which I could just bend easily, but this I'm going to break if try to bend harder but I don't want to do that so if you have any ideas on how to bend this little tab which is made of carbon then write me in the comments what should be done with it but it's also possible that I'll simply cut it shorter and then everyone will be happy my other problem would be that the hood is out of place because it's not in the middle if I look at it, it's a little to the left and there it's very far to the left and the whole thing should be moved to the right Yes, except that has already been completely moved in the hinge so it can't be moved to the right any better than this I think there is only one solution left from here I'll grind out a little so than it can be moved better the hood, now I'm facing it like this then to the right so that it fits nicely because now it's so far off that here the gap is so ugly big and here the gap is so ugly narrow Well, it will still take some time, but it's already going well Well, it seems nobody has done this since yesterday then let's continue The hood hinges grinding still left I'll try to adjust the hood then I think I'll leave the bumper for now, I'll install another one later anyway but I will speak about that in a later video anyway you'll see why the problem is that the hood should be moved there not so much, like 2-3mm but for that you have to grind from this part of it, the same on this side from this both at the bottom and at the top I'm done with the sanding for now, but let me tell you if we take the opportunity the tip of the day if you do this kind of work, cover the area if possible because everything will be full of metal shavings cleaning will be a little easier afterwards the hinges have already been completed, it has been expanded a bit on both sides let's try the bonnet on OK, let's see Well, at first we achieved the exact opposite of what it was now the gap is quite narrow on this side And on this side the gap as wide as it was on the other side so now there is only one thing left somehow I have to halve the two Finally the front of the M3 Touring came together, I struggled with it a bit it may seem like this from the video that it's a relatively fast story, but I played with it for 2 days and managed to set it up like this loose and tighten 68 times... I'm not saying it's still completely perfect I'd leave the first bumper for now because anyway another one will be installed at the end But I'm very happy with the result because I think I managed to set it as much as it could be set I got what I could get out of it let's see what is the end result the gaps on both sides were good on the fender now it runs quite nicely on the hood too here you can actually see that the gap is pretty uniform all the way up to the top here it widens a little at the right fender here at the door the gap runs pretty well, the turn signal turned out good too finally I grinded off a little from the small tab and it also fits now the hood is also good, the bumper could still be adjusted here a little but I'm not dealing with that right now, here on the left side is also good, the situation is similar with the gap next to the hood here too, till about the top 20cm it runs nicely evenly and then it widens a little bit but I think that's still acceptable by the door, here it has a small opening, unfortunately this is also included in the sample in the metal sample which was used for making the carbon fenders here's the welding... right, the kidney has to be moved a little forward and the welding pulled the plate inside, the fixing points are also in pretty good position screw locations match nicely on the left side on the right side almost too this also good, this is the only one here where it still needs to be expanded a little bit but then this will also be good Well, this whole assembly, putting on fitting is necessary to see how it fits, because we expand on the hinge, we expand a little 1-2 screws at the mounting point so that when it is assembled and we see that it is good like that there is no need to change it, then it will go to the paintshop with peace of mind and when it comes back it really is you just have to put it on, you don't have to grind nothing on it anymore and at least we won't mess up the paintwork Well, to be honest, the trim and the turn signal should be fitted into the fender now because as you can see the M3 fender has a little longer space for the trim so you need to modify your own Touring trim here so the side marker has to be cutted into it but of course it can be solved, you just have to play with it a little and you have to cut here a slightly bigger hole in it, everything can be solved, the only problem now is that there won't be much time for this and there is also no time left for the side grill neither, because someone is coming on Sunday to wire up the engine and by then the engine should be in, the fuel tank the fuel piping and everything, we're not dealing with the brake for now that's not necessary right now, just make it to the point where when the wiring is done, then start the engine immediately I have to continue with this, so now the frontend is ready for now I'm very happy about it it's true that I played with it for two days till I managed to put it together like this but I definitely wanted to align to see how the fender fits I think it turned out really well I hope you like it too, if you like it, hit thumbs up and subscribe But now we have to continue with the engine installation and the rest let's go if we managed to put the whole front together in two days Then what if we took it apart in 10 minutes and in the meantime I will show you how to adjust the bumper and the lights and other things so that they are sure to be in good position or if there is a slight sag or slant somewhere then how can you eliminate that, let's see the attachment points of the hood on the hinges we already looked at how it can be expanded a little bit, I don't think we should waste any more time on that the headlights have some adjustment options above the lugs Also down at the bracket I'll take them off soon and then we'll see the headlights have a small lower bracket, these can be adjusted at two points there is one attachment point and there the other This gives us a little play to move up, down, right and left we can move it a little bit Now let's look at the bumper the bumper is held by this carbon brace, on you can also adjust it a little bit there are three screws inside You can adjust it on these, but first there is a rivet at the top and here there is a rivet at the bottom that must be removed and then if you loosen these three screws, sorry two one and the other then you can also move a little to the right, left, up and down see? you can also play with the slam panel a little separately even a little above here to a little to the left a little to the right at the top there is a small adjustment option the same way down here, there is also a little a little possibility to go up, down, right and left with it so it's quite easy to put the whole front together so it takes time, a lot of time I've unloaded everything from the engine compartment, now I could install the engine However, there is a problem that I didn't think of, that this engine does not yet have a gearbox and without a gearbox, I think, but please correct me if I'm wrong, I think the maximum that can be done is to move the starter a little bit apart from that, not much else So I'll put this aside for now while I put a gearbox on it, so as not to waste time I'm going to remove the interior, the dashboard still needs to come out anyway, the metal support that holds the dashboard, the heater box needs to come out the center console, the carpet, I'll need space for the wiring But before I go into the interior, tell me but honestly, do you think I should keep the roof rail or should I remove it and leave only a flat trim instead which is better with or without a roof rail? write me your opinion in the comments I removed everything out of the dashboard, let's say I successfully broke the central vent, but it's not a big problem, we'll replace it later usually very difficult to remove, the center console also came out now the next step is actually to remove the dashboard or not? it seems I forgot the A-pillar covers there are goodies here too we need to dismantle a little before we start building the dashboard is finally out, I forgot how to take it out a little bit so I struggled a bit with this too but it's not a problem I found other strange wires too that I don't know where they belong and what they do there will probably be a bit of anger during the wiring because first we have to remove what is not belongs there and then replace it with what is actually needed and also I have no idea what this USB is for but I don't really care too much because we're going to throw it out anyway the point is that now it's empty and in the next round the metal frame that holds the dashboard, the heater box then the pedals and the carpets can come out then the place is ready But now it looks like we have to finish, unfortunately we didn't manage to put the engine in although I really wanted but at least now we know how to continue if you are interested if the engine will be installed in its place in the next video and if it starts, then make sure to subscribe to the channel and join also in the next video If you liked this episode and that little struggling, then hit the thumbs up if you have any questions about the build or you are stuck on your own Touring then feel free to write it in the comments and I'll try to help or maybe the others can help and see you in the next video it may seem like this from the video that it's a relatively fast story, but I played with it for 2 days and managed to set it up like this
