We are a married couple who moved to Hokkaido after traveling around Japan. We enjoy the outdoors with a minivan designed for stay in the car. This time we will go to a popular campsite in "Niseko" Hello. This is my first time camping in the snow.

Finally, we will camp in the snow. One of the things I wanted to do when I came to Hokkaido. That's snow camping. By the time this video is released, I think it will already be 2023.

Happy new year. It's like a TV show. lol This video was shot in mid-December. This is our first snow camp. The place is "Niseko Sahina Campsite".

This is a popular campsite recommended by many viewers. Niseko is a world-famous Japanese snow resort. If the weather is clear, you can see Mt. Yotei at this campground. But it's not sunny today.

it's snowing I don't know if I can see Mt. Yotei, but I will enjoy camping in the snow. I just checked in, so I'm about to go to our site right now. This time I reserved a car site. Amazing. This is a private campsite.

Here. It's snow. Our site is here. This is the snow site. It is very spacious.

Yes. It's a fairly large space. We will camp here. It seems that it snowed about 20 cm yesterday. The ground is so bumpy now that I have to clear the snow. At first, it is in a bumpy state, so we remove the snow by ourselves.

Flatten the ground. First time clearing snow. Start by removing the snow. I can't see the scenery at all now, but Mt. Annupuri is over there. Niseko Annupuri.

It is a mountain with a ski resort. So when it's sunny, the scenery is great. I hope it will be sunny tomorrow. I can't see anything for now. I can't see it at all.

It's a winter wonderland. It's snowing again, but I'm going to remove the snow for now. Snow removal tools can be borrowed at the reception.

Snow Removal Squadron member Akari. lol This is a mama-san (mother) dump that is familiar to people in Hokkaido. That's the first time I've heard that word. What does that mean? It means that even moms can easily remove snow like a dump truck. Having borrowed this, I will remove the snow. It's my first time so I don't know how.

Should the ground be straight and flat? The snow is hard. Decide on a range. Let's set up a tent in the middle. It's fun. A shovel may be easier to remove snow. Because the snow is hard.

Mama dump was hard to use, so I will use my shovel. It's hard. It's powerful. It's hot.

Step on the snow to harden it. It's snowing. I leveled the ground, but I don't know the end. Is it okay to feel like this? Let's set up a tent. I will set up a tent.

Setting up in the snow for the first time. The tent is Sabbatical's Morning Glory TC. I use the pegs that came with another tent. It's big enough that it can even be used in the snow. It's my first time using that peg.

It is sturdy. This peg is amazing. It can be used even in snow. I've never used it before because it's too big.

The peg came into play for the first time at snow camping. I could see Mt. Annupuri on the way to set up. To my surprise, the weather cleared.

Beautiful. You can see the ski slopes. Wow, beautiful. Awesome. The ski slopes are shining. I can see the ski lift over there.

Amazing. Mt Yotei is on the right side. I can't see it yet. The sun has come out.

I'm glad I chose a place with a view of Annupuri. It looked miraculous. Mt. Annupuri through the tent.

Completed. It was fun. Setting up in the snow for the first time. I managed to set up my tent. I think that peg can be used in snow without any problem.

Today's tent is Morning Glory. The floor is snow. I will not use the ground sheet and will camp as it is. I think it took about an hour and a half. It was cold, but it warmed me up when I moved.

It's so hot now. Like this. It's cold today, so I'm thinking of sleeping in the car. I don't put up an inner tent, so I use it widely. Since this is my first time camping in the snow, I will stay in the car for safety reasons.

The pole is also bifurcated, so there is no pole in the middle, so you can use it spaciously. It's so wide. And another new camping gear has been added. There's new camping gear every time these days. lol I've always wanted this too. My recent camp was just using this Uniflame small table.

I bought a table because it's hard to cook. I used to have a big wooden table. But I wanted to make it lighter, so I sold it and bought a new one.

Helinox tactical table L size. Same brand as this chair. Very light and easy to use. (Weight 1.5 kg) The wooden table was quite heavy. This table is compact enough to fit in this bag.

Assemble the legs in the same way as the chair. It's like this. The top plate can be folded. It's so easy. OK It looks like this.

light. Light but durable. With a load capacity of 50 kg, you can place heavy luggage. It's like this. This is also Helinox, so the price is high. But I wanted it, so I bought it.

New table. I'll use it carefully. Now you're one step closer to lightweight camping. It's getting lighter and lighter. Let's go for a walk before it gets dark. The time is now around 15:00.

We reserved a car site, but there is also a tent site. First of all, I will look around the car site. Our site is here. I don't know the site number.

You can see Annupuri on that side. The staff at the campground guided us. There are also car sites in the back and above.

Let's go. On a clear day, you can see Mt. Yotei from the site in the back. I can't see Mt Yotei now. That side is the entrance where the reception is. This is the farthest car site.

Oh, she slipped. lol It was dangerous. lol Be careful. We're not used to deep snow yet. I want to praise myself for not falling now.

Amazing world. This place is good. This is the deepest private zone. You can park your car here. Carrying luggage is a bit difficult. Surrounded by trees.

Is Mt. Yotei over there? You can see it through the trees. This side is also a car site. Each one is wide. Even if there is a user on the next site, it feels private because it is far away. I feel like I can enjoy it quietly anywhere.

This site was also recommended by the staff. This side is open so you can see Annupuri. It's beautiful here too. Feels good to open.

Like exploring. It's fun because it's snowing. This tree is amazing. After all Niseko snow is deep. Like overseas.

This is the middle of December. January and February will see more snow. Great here too. Forest. Surrounded by trees.

This tree is cute. It's like a Christmas tree. But I can't see the scenery because it's surrounded by trees. Relaxed atmosphere.

This place is very spacious. How many tents can you put up? I can put up about 5 tents. Snow removal is difficult.

This is the reception. This is the center house. This is the center house. It's lit up.

There are many lovely buildings. Everything looks like a log house. The left is the toilet. It is unisex. This is the kitchen.

This place is closed at night. (6:30~22:00) It's really warm inside the building. Does the center house have a stove? It seems that there is an oil stove and a wood stove. This is a wood burning stove.

It's so good, it's warm. If it's cold, you can take shelter inside. It's closed at night, but you can rest here until 22:00. There are chairs and tables as well. You can rest here when the snow blizzards. There is also an oil stove over there.

This is the kitchen. It's warm inside the building. Very good. But it closes at night, so if you want to use water, you have to store it in the water jug. You can use it until 22:00, so it's okay. The toilet is shared by men and women, but there are 3 private rooms.

Western style. Nice. This is the reception and shop. There is a snow removal tool in front of it, and you can borrow it for free. There is also a sled.

Only raw garbage can be thrown away. Take the rest home. Only garbage can be thrown here. Tent site.

You can't park your car on the side, but it's a scenic site. You have to walk to the tent site. So I think the sleds are for carrying loads. It might be a sled for hauling, not for riding.

The car site is on the right. There is a path to the left of this. We will take this path. Somebody is setting up a tent. This is the tent site. Very difficult to carry luggage.

It's a deep snow. Is this the right way? lol Is this really a campground? It seems that this is the right way. No one is using the tent site in the back, so it's a heavy snow.

Awesome. I can't believe this is a campsite. I can see Mt. Yotei just a little bit.

Only the foot of the mountain can be seen. You can see it from here when the weather is clear. Is this a tent site? The snow is so deep that it is very difficult to remove. This can be tough for beginners. Fluffy. It's powder snow.

I want to snowboard. You can camp in the great outdoors. I don't dare to camp here. I can't imagine how hard it is to clear the snow. Heavy snow camping requires physical strength. But if it's sunny, I think you can see Mt Yotei on this side.

I am back. Let's turn on the stove. I put the trivet on it.

A trivet that fits perfectly with the stove. I bought a trivet for the captain stag charcoal stove. Ignition.

This tent looks like a kamakura (Japanese snow igloo). We warm ourselves up on the stove. It's warm.

It is warm when I turned on the stove. The coldness of the body was resolved at once. It was already dark and I can't see anything around me. It's already 16:15 in the evening.

It's getting dark little by little. Let's have a tea break. I bought sweets, so I will eat them.

The floor is snow. Will the heat from the stove melt the snow? I don't think it will get that hot. Because the floor is cold and warm air rises. It's fun. Snow camping is fun. But it's snowing.

Snow removal was like a winter sport. I felt tired like snowboarding. For a moment, my shoulder was cramping and it hurt so much. lol Kenji temporarily withdrew from the battlefield. lol I used muscles that I don't usually use. Our house doesn't need snow removal.

Come to think of it, there was another new gear. It is the cap that Akari is wearing. I bought this new as well. NANGA and Clef collaboration cap. We are spending money in December. Consumption will increase in December.

I think everyone does. But I think it's because company employees have bonuses. We have no bonuses. Thank you. I'll enjoy having this.

And today's sweets. I bought it at a shop called Niseko Takahashi Ranch. Cheese tart. I have eaten this before.

I ate it when I came to Niseko for snowboarding. I bought it because it was delicious. By the way, I also had lunch there. The restaurant called Mandriano. I ate pizza and it was delicious.

Cheese tart from Niseko Takahashi Ranch. Like this. delicious. delicious. It tasted like this. I ate it on the bus on the way home from Niseko. I remember it very well.

I ate it with drinking yogurt. Takahashi Farm's drinking yogurt is famous. Drinking yogurt can also be purchased at New Chitose Airport. I bought this today as well as some sweet potatoes. I was thinking of roasting sweet potatoes on the stove.

I may not be able to eat it all because I have dinner. Let's have baked sweet potato for breakfast tomorrow. I came to Niseko when I was still an office worker, but the weather wasn't great. I didn't even know where Mt. Yotei was.

It was snowing and the weather was rough. When I came to the campsite, I passed by the ski slope, so I wanted to snowboard. You can see the ski slopes from here too. There are many ski resorts nearby. I haven't snowboarded yet this winter. I want to go in the new year.

Then we will have dinner. I was a little relaxed. Today's dinner is sukiyaki. I always make it with soy sauce and sugar, but I saw a delicious-looking warishita on sale, so I bought it. Sukiyaki warishita from a Hokkaido maker called Sorachi. (Warishita is a stock made from a mixture of soy sauce, mirin [sweet rice wine for cooking] and sugar) Uses raw materials from Hokkaido.

I will make sukiyaki with this. This is the meat. This is Kushiro apple beef. 600g Very large quantity.

I bought this at a nearby supermarket. Gorgeous sukiyaki. It's always hot pot. Today is also a hot pot dish, but sukiyaki. It was beef pot before, but this time it's sukiyaki. Wow, looks delicious. Let's eat.

First of all, just meat. I'll enjoy having this. Delicious. The egg is cold. Cold raw egg. delicious.

Wow, that's great. delicious. What makes sukiyaki so delicious? It's the best. It was warm inside the tent. 11.4°C. It's minus 5.3 degrees outside.

It's not that cold. This stove is amazing. It's so warm. Let's cook sukiyaki. Let's keep going. As expected, the bottom is snow, so the cold air comes from the bottom.

However, it is very warm inside the tent. I'm not even wearing a coat. It is a comfortable temperature. Even with the stove on, it's surprisingly cold below, so the snow hasn't melted at all. I thought more snow would melt. I also added vegetables.

It was really warm all of a sudden. This stock is delicious. Sorachi also makes products like this. Does this company mainly make sauces? I didn't know much about it.

There are sauces for Genghis Khan and pork rice bowls. There are many foreigners in Niseko. I think there are many foreigners living here. There are people of various nationalities. Some are Asian.

I heard that there are many Australians. But I saw Asian people at supermarkets and hot springs. When I came to Niseko on a snowboarding trip before, there was a restaurant where only English was spoken. All the staff and customers were foreigners except us.

Surprisingly there was only an English menu. Even though it's Japan. lol It was a restaurant for foreigners. And at that time, we had just got married. Our friends gave us a surprise wedding present.

They prepared cakes and desserts. But the friend had to make the reservation in English. She called the restaurant, but the staff could only speak English.

If you just make a reservation, I think you can do it if you do your best. It's hard to tell in English to prepare a cake as a surprise. The friend who made the reservation had experience studying abroad, so it seems that she managed to get through. It was funny. Niseko is overseas. If you come to Niseko, you can study abroad while staying in Japan.

Study abroad in Japan. I can see why this campground is so popular. It's amazing to be able to camp in this snow.

I think it's difficult to manage. Snow removal is difficult. Thank you for the meal. I couldn't eat it all. Meat and vegetables remained. I will take the leftover ingredients home.

It's only about 19:00, but I want to sleep by 22:00 today. At this campsite, the power to the restrooms goes off at 22:00. So I want to go to bed at 22:00.

I want to get up early tomorrow. Can you do it? I'm not good at getting up early. I want to get up early and play in the snow if it's not snowing. I think the scenery is probably more beautiful in the morning when the air is clear. If it's snowing, I might not be able to do it. It depends on the weather.

There are no baths here, so I'm just going to sleep today. I'm thinking of going to a hot spring tomorrow. Well, we will clean up and have a relaxing time. I entered the car. It's 22:00, but I'm going to bed.

I hope I can wake up early tomorrow. Good night. Good morning. It's now 8:00 am. What time did you say you were going to get up yesterday? 6 o'clock. We said we would get up at 6:00.

I set an alarm, but I didn't hear it. I woke up at 7 instead of getting up at 6. I was an hour late, but I woke up earlier than usual.

I usually get up at 9:00. After washing my face and getting ready, I'm making breakfast this morning. Baked sweet potato. I've been baking sweet potatoes on the stove since morning. It probably didn't snow last night. There is no sign of snow.

The snow that had piled up hardened and looked like ice. Can I eat baked sweet potato anymore? It smells good. This is a cultivar called Beniharuka. Whoa, it smells good. delicious. sweet.

I can't believe it's so delicious just to bake. It's hot. sweet.

Beniharuka is a sweet variety. Check out time for this campsite is 11am. But I have to start cleaning up earlier than usual.

It might be okay because it's not snowing, but I'll clean up a little early. If you have extra time, let's play in the snow. I could see a little sun in the background. Amazing. Annupuri looks so beautiful today. This site is great.

Mt Yotei is hidden in the clouds all the time. Mt Yotei is a little further away. I hear birds.

I hear chirping. It doesn't seem to be the cry of a long-tailed tit. A bird is singing, but it's not a long-tailed tit. pretty. It's ringing over here. I'm going to make a snowman here.

You are professional. She is making a big snowball. The snowman head is ready.

It has finally been completed. big. Snowman. This is a smiling snowman. It has eyelashes.

The face was made by Akari. pretty. It's a girl. It's big.

Please squat down. About this size. Go to the tent site one more time before cleaning up. I was able to come to the tent site from the car site.

There is only one parcel here. Deep snow. You can only see the foot of Mt. Yotei. I think it's very beautiful when it's sunny.

This site is very good. That's our site, so behind it. You can see both mountains here. Annupuri and Mount Yotei. It's amazing when it's sunny.

Unfortunately, we could not see Mt Yotei this time. I was able to confirm something. I could imagine seeing it over there. Well, the snow play is over, and it's time to clean up. I will withdraw.

It's over. This is the end of our first snow camp. Finished safely. I was wondering what would happen, but it ended safely. The weather was fine.

It wasn't sunny, but it wasn't a blizzard or a strong wind. I was able to camp safely. How was it? It was fun. It was more fun than I expected.

I thought it would be harder. I thought it would be a tough camp. I thought it would be more difficult to make a site or withdraw. Maybe it's a blizzard or the weather is bad and you might think it's tough. It was really good that the weather was good for the first time camping in the snow. It was fun.

I stayed in the car this time, so the cold was fine. With a sleeping bag, everything was fine. I think it would be quite difficult in the cold months of January and February. It was December so no problem. We also snowboard in the winter, so I don't think we can come to camp often.

But I would like to do it again if I have the chance. This Niseko Sahina campsite is a great place. The scenery is beautiful. Mt. Yotei didn't look so beautiful this time, but I'm glad that Annupuri looks so beautiful.

Each site felt private. Adjacent sites are kept at a distance. There were other customers, but it was very quiet. It was good too. Two nights are better for snow camping.

I thought I could enjoy it more slowly. This was my first time, so I only stayed one night. In addition, I would like to challenge consecutive nights.

Next time, I would like to try staying for more than one night. Thank you for watching. Please subscribe to the channel.
