I’m actually as you can see packed up, just said bye to the hair man and I’m heading to the airport right now. So I will be heading over to a city in India called
Kochi and I’m very, very excited for that because I’ll be spending the next maybe like almost four weeks in India. I wish I could stay a little bit longer but what I’ll probably do is spend about 23 days there and then come back later in the year and finish up my travels there. Basically, I have some commitments coming up that I’ll have to that I can only stay in India for about 23 days. So yeah
now I am in Colombo though of course leaving Sri Lanka. I’m getting an Uber in just a moment. He’s coming to pick me up and I’ll be taking a 45 minute ride over to the airport for about 2200 via Uber so it's like 11, 12 dollars roughly. Alright, so let's go see if we can find him. Guys we have made it to the airport, gonna go through security and see on the flip side. Alright, there's the flight to Kochi, check-in time. So guys actually, I was lucky enough to get an upgrade the first class or business class for only 30 dollars. Basically, there's a feature when you're check in
after you check in purchase the flight they'll send you an email a lot of times I guess. They'll ask if you wanna bid on first or business class and so I put in like the lowest amount 30 bucks and it was accepted. It is only like a 45 minute flight but hey first- business class is business class. So, let's go get
checked in. Two layers of security check in and now we're just getting to the actual checking gate so Sri Lankan airways somewhere around here. I will say this is the nice part if you got business class, you get your own special line no waiting over here so that's good news. So guys just made it through. The
nice part is only took a couple minutes because I had a special- special line for business class. The great part is is you actually get a lounge invitation. I have my personal information on here so I’m trying to cover it up but that right there like to get into a lounge normally you'll pay like 30 dollars anyways so I paid like 30 dollars to upgrade a business so it's a win-win in my book. We're gonna head over to immigration now. Alright, the customs process was a breeze too.
Now we're in the last area which is the spot where all the gates are food shops duty-free stuff a little bit of everything. I’m trying to find where this lounge is because we have free access so we can show you guys what a Sri Lankan air- airlines lounge looks like. There's not much signage around here to figure out where it is. Oh there it is right there, Serendib Lounge. So it seems like they have quite a few maybe like four or five lounges. I
actually also have access to the priority pass which gives me access to lounges all around the world so I’m not sure if even the Sri Lankan one that I’m going to is the best but we'll find out. We'll take you guys for a little tour once we get over there. I think this might be it Serendiva Lounge Sri Lankan business class by invitation only so this looks like where we're gonna head into. Alright, let's head on in see what this
lounge is all about check it out and, oh yeah we've got some proper lighting in here. Hello, subodesina [Good morning]. Hi. Hello, how are you? Good, thank you. How are you? Very good, thank you. Washrooms on your left side corner. There's a sleeping area over that side. Oh alright and bar buffet self service. Okay. Then 30 minutes prior to your departure, you have to be at the gate. Six weeks. Oh that's a very small time period for you to learn. Yeah I learned a little bit, yeah enough to make people laugh. Yeah thank you, thank you. Probably a little too early for me to grab a drink right now as much as I’d like to. So let's see what we've got for breakfast on this side. Oh yeah, you already know we're gonna be doing some desserts, that's a fact. We're going to try out some of these chocolate muffins if we can figure out how to open this thing. They’re keeping them as fresh as
possible and they're playing hard to get. Well, that's looking delicious, a little bit of everything bright and early we've got curries. We've got fish. Subodesina machan [Thank you bro] and we've got omelets, grilled sausages. Oh I’m gonna need a proper size plate for this French toast. Oh yeah, now we're gonna figure out where
the- the juices or the coffees. Seems like maybe over here on this side there we go. This must be the coffee machine. Let’s get a cappuccino. Oh that was quick. Oh yeah, there we go some milk comes out first froth's it and then we got the coffee. Alright, so we're gonna mix it up a little bit with the
western breakfast too. So one last little taste of Sri Lankan food, get some sausages there. Looks like there might be chicken sausages if I had to guess and then a little omelette there with a pepper that'll get the day started the right way. Can never go wrong. I’m going with kind of a lighter breakfast this morning. Oh hash browns can't miss those. Let's see if they've got a crunch to them or not and that'll do maybe some fruit in a bit.
Alright, this is what we got for the feast here, quite a few options. Let’s go ahead and test them out and you guys can see, we've got nice early a.m. views of some Sri Lankan airline, planes out there and that's the- that's the lounge for you. So pretty nice I’d say. I think we gotta try out the sweets first. They always say have desserts for dessert but we're
gonna have it as the main course. Nothing like some good chocolate in the morning. Taste of the almond, the chicken sausage is quite delicious actually. Is that a hash brown? A little on the chewy side still pretty good though. Could use more of a crunch to be a better hash brown we gotta try one more. I’m sure there might be quite a few of this type of cuisine as
well in India but we'll find out. Before Sri Lanka, I wasn't even really a fan of coconut stuff and now right now who would have thought I drank a bunch of coconut waters. I mean now coconut rice that's held together morphed like a rice patty.
Sri Lankan food's delicious. Got this chocolate muffin. Now that's what we came for. Oh I should be at the gym right now not in chocolate muffins but sometimes you gotta live a little bit but I will tell you like the fact that I only bid 6000 rupees and I got it probably means that the business class area is not full but I was surprised probably because it is only a 45-50 minute flight that they allowed me to even bid that low. So yeah normally, I never ever fly business because I just don't spend my money like that, don't really see the need but when it's this small of a gap to go from economy to business and I can share the experience with you guys, I’m like yeah let's do it. Alright, guys it's about 7:15, flight’s in 50 minutes so it is time to head over, make sure we don't miss it. Stootee [Thank you] my friend, stootee [Thank you] thank you. Alright, here we go,
and we gotta find gate 11 which is looks like it's gonna be this way. Wow just in the hour that I went there, it was like super dark in here now that sun's up and now it's like super bright I’m like whoa, new airport who dis. It’s actually a pretty large sized airport. Thought I was only gonna be a
few steps away from the gate but actually walking down this way, we've got a solid little hike after having that breakfast so now we're cruising over there. Hopefully, we're gonna be the first ones on the plan to the business class tickets so I can show you guys before there's a lot of people everywhere but we shall see it. We’re hustling to get over there. We’re gonna hop right on this and this will get us there and double the speed. So I guess to get on the plane, you have to go through security again that's three times of security from when you get in the airport so that doesn't make you feel safe I don't know what does. Let’s head up final call stootee [Thank you].

think- I think this is the first time I’ve ever been literally like the first person on the plane. I don't unless someone else is ahead of me but I got number- seat number two window right on the plane. Subodesina [Good morning]. Alright, Subodesina [Good morning]. So looks like I’m gonna be sitting right 2F. Alright, got the window seat right
there, best seat in the house yeah. Perfect stootee, bahoma stootee [Thank you very much]. Oh here we go, we got the nice pillow there. Oh yeah, I’m gonna be falling asleep except I probably had too many coffees to be able to fall asleep. Oh yeah, that leg room is nice. It's gonna be a comfy ride machan [Bro], very nice. Two windows actually, so it's a double window so you got one there one there and it seems like what else do we got here, connections to things, tray table must come out the side there. Yeah just plenty
of space so that is nice. Oh yeah, let me try one of the champagnes here, perfect. Bahoma stootee [Thank you very much]. Oh there we go guys I’m guilty I’m having a 8 a.m. it's not even 8 a.m. yet but I’m having a glass of champagne but hey if you're in first class, business class you might as well right. That is nice. As you can see, there's not too many people up here in the first class, got the whole place to ourselves so I guess that means I probably can take this off while I’m sipping the champagne, yeah.
I’m not gonna lie I’m quite surprised actually with such a short flight, there is still food being served like I think it's like a 30 or 40 minute flight something like that so here's what we have for the menu. Oh it's even custom to say Colombo to India. We've got fresh fruit, hot snack, smoked chicken or a paneer kofta mini vegetable pizza and we can get some tea and coffee a Sri Lankan recipe right here too. Oh yeah, we can even take a video if you guys need a little recipe, you got it right there. Yum, yum, yum as we say. And we're departing so actually I had a schedule because we're supposed to depart at 8:05 so that's good news and it says we'll arrive at the other gate at 9:15 a.m. so that's one hour and 10 minutes gate to gate very short flight. And here we go, goodbye Sri Lanka, it's been fun.
Last views of Sri Lanka. Alright, guys so the meal has arrived. The staff on the airline super friendly. They even came over and opened the tray table for me. I was like oh wow, you didn't have to do that but just goes to show they go above and beyond. So right here, we've got some fruits we've got some-
oh fresh off the grill. We've got the sandwich right there, nice and hot. I don't know if you guys can hear much of this because the audio on the plane but if you can't hear it, I will either caption it or I’ll do a voiceover. So in that case, I’m just going to set the camera down maybe do a little time lapse. Fresh strong cup of coffee guys that way I can offset the champagne I just had if you wanted to make me tired in flight. But it's a really good sandwich. You can taste it's very cheesy so I love that
along with the chicken in there, a very light spice with the peppers. Gets the job done. It'll be a nice little I guess second breakfast. I’m glad I didn't eat as much in a lounge. And it actually worked out that there's not a bunch of people at first in business class right now because now I can use the tray table next door to put the camera talk a little bit louder without disturbing everyone on the plane and give you guys a better review. Now I’m not sure what this one is but it looks delicious.
Looks like some sort of local delicacy, it's kinda almost got like a croissant type of bread to it like a bit flaky. Oh well, that's quite nice. I’m trying to figure out how do I explain the flavor in this because you can definitely like when I said kinda like croissant bread, you can feel that it's kinda got like that chewiness on the inside after you get around the flaky outside. I wanna guess maybe there's chicken in there but I’m not entirely certain.
Oh yeah. Let’s put it this way, it's not the last time I’ll be eating one of these, that is nice. Here’s what we're looking at outside going right over the ocean so we're crossing that little gap in between India and Sri Lanka at the moment. Food is very delicious, very happy
with it, hot and ready. Got a nice water to finish it off with. Now that's a proper breakfast to see if I can get a proper thumbnail here. Guys I must say it is impressive to have a meal served on a flight that is less than one hour like in the United States if you fly from like New York city to Los Angeles, that's like a five-hour flight and they never serve meals like on- on those flights going all the way across the country. I think you can buy stuff on there but like I’ve noticed especially in like the Southeast Asia region which I’ve only been to Thailand, Sri Lanka in terms of like southeast Asia, South Asia and then India I’ve been like eight years ago but like yeah I’ve noticed like I even took a flight when I was in Thailand a couple years ago from Ko Samui to one of the ones on the other side maybe Krabi I flew to and it was like a 30 minute flight and they served food on there too. So I was like wow that's- that's pretty impressive
and it's delicious too. Now I’m looking out the window as you can see, we've got the coast over there so this must be India guys. Welcome to the airspace of India. It looks like what we're coming over right now there's a lot of farmlands down there just based on looking at the shapes of all the land plots down there. I have a feeling it's gonna be pretty warm out. I don't know if you guys can see in the
GoPro but way out there you can see the clouds coming up a bit higher but seeping out of the clouds like right there and right about there, we've got some mountains some towering mountains so I can imagine the landscapes out here are going to be beautiful. Wow, you can see the mountains even more look at. Wow, sort of towering up through the clouds right here. I did not realize the south of India was this mountainous. Let’s be honest, I don't know too much
about the south that's why I’m here to explore it and learn a lot about it. Oh you can even see right about there, it looks like we've got a small little village with kind of a lake in between the mountains. That looks incredibly beautiful. I gotta figure out how to get there. Comment below if you know what city this is. I'm probably 15 minutes away from the airport where I’ll be landing. So it's mountains that I guess would be south of it.
Wow, the sights coming in, mountains out there. Geez, it's gotta be like 200 kilometers away but they're so high, you can see them right about there. You can see that the mountains right there are basically like sucking the clouds down. Obviously the GoPro's gonna kinda flatten the scenery a bit but just looking out the window, you guys can get a pretty good idea for what the terrain in this area looks like magnificent, magnificent to say the least. Alright, we are literally in the clouds
right now. As you can see, looks like we're in the movie like you know DreamWorks the movie. It’s like you're just inside the clouds you can see DreamWorks being written out. Oh we just went straight into a cloud slight amount of turbulence that means we're descending quite a bit and here we are guys, we're getting the aerial look.
That is the ocean there. That is the river right next to it and this is Kochi. You can see definitely a strong layer of smog. I’m guessing there must be a fair amount of pollution here as I recognize that look because it's a sunny pretty clear day in terms of clouds over here but actually when you just look right down there, you can barely see. Guys we're coming for a landing in just a few moments, we'll be saying welcome to India.
And here we are. Lots and lots of farmlands but luscious green landscapes. Palm trees everywhere that's always a good feeling.
Going over a golf course, some train tracks. We have now entered airport airspace and we are seconds away from touching down. Here we go. and three, two, one. And we have touched down. Welcome to India.

First one on the plane and first one off. Let's see how fast it's gonna take for me to get through the customs process. Hello. Make sure you got yourselves a pen here right when I got off the plane they just handed me this one that I need to fill out which is basically just all the information for them to check us in at immigration. Oh yeah, you can feel the humidity here.
It’s gonna be warm. Hello my friend. Good morning. Good morning. We have arrived. Alright, I just got through customs. I’ve got some sort of marketing on my bag. No one told me what it is, I guess I just keep going. Hello, and it looks like we are entering in the duty-free shop. So, I don't think there's anything I need
to pick up at the moment but if you guys need something when you're coming through here as always pretty much at all airports this is where you pick up the loot. Your baggage claim the way out this way so I just made it through customs pretty quick process and right when you get out, you've got money exchanges. You've got a taxi cab stand right there and that way you can make sure you get the prices that you should be paying. So basically I just prepaid for a taxi all the way to the Ramada resort where I’m gonna be staying which came out to 1300 rupees. So you can kinda get everything done the only thing I haven't seen is- oh maybe I can get a sim card there at Airtel 4g but I can do it later.
Luckily, I have GoogleFi so I still do have some signal and then we've even got Atms when we first walk out so that's good news, get some rupees, get loaded up here. I officially have my first Indian currency, the rupees for the first time in eight years the last time I was here. And here we are guys, we have exited the airport not as busy as some of the other airports I’ve flown into in India before. We're gonna be going down to A9 that's where the prepaid taxis are. It's a very modern airport though as you can see coming out, it is hot here though I gotta get out of these pants. It's gonna be shorts time real soon, I can promise you that.
Wow, it's not even midday yet it's still only like 9 a.m. and it's already this warm. It’s gonna be time to hop in that pool. Alright, prepaid taxi down this way.
