all right so let me put my phone on my right side so we are going live actually no all right so we just got started i need to make sure we are on facebook okay all right so we are live so we still have have like five minutes so we need to kill some time to i mean for people to join basically so how is everything felicia it's good i mean it it's very different in the morning and it feels very different in the evening but you think so because of the news and everything yeah so yeah yeah i mean aside from that i think has been good uh i've been you know doing a lot of things online so like you know a lot of things when you move your frustration into like uh you know just focus on things that you can control yeah i think i think yeah that that's where i am right now so i'm doing pretty well how about you homie awesome everything is great actually on my side so for us it's pretty much the same as before like pre-copy it's just that the location have changed i personally had a lot of new discoveries so basically i got to know that my dad is a good interior designer during discovery so because he gets like bored at home and then he start moving things around i'm not living with them but my mom was complaining like your dad had nothing to do like moving things around what about you did you have any discoveries about yourself or about someone near yeah i i discovered i was i was i was quite good in recreating food that i've tasted before so i've become a bit of a pandemic uh pandemic a chef at home oh so you cook at home right yeah i cook at home because i'm i'm living apart from my family as well because my hometown is actually in uh in perak or uh you know when people know people and you know it's a small town um so uh so yes i've been you know pretty much have to be adjusted you know living alone in kl so it's it's kind of important to sort of uh take care of yourself right so you can't just order out all the time so i started cooking and i realized i uh i've enjoyed it uh yeah and it reminds me of hope so yeah i'm cooking like the dish like the dishes that you know reminds me of homemostly yeah awesome i i do well weekends on my tent i mean when it comes to cooking so my wife is cooking at home like during the weekends i take over the kitchen so yeah i'm actually curious you still got time right you still got like two three minutes so you're a nutritional coach right yeah i am i started okay uh i started as a wellness coach so um that is basically uh to work on like the nutrition habits right and uh it's very different because i didn't study to be a nutritionist or a dietitian so uh wellness industry um and then i added on like it's mostly working people's lifestyle and habits and then i added the fitness part into it so yeah so you can say i'm a nutrition coach but it's more on the habits rather than like restricting what you can eat or what you cannot eat so it's a little bit different yeah right awesome so as a nutritional coach i'm very curious to know what did you eat yesterday like for breakfast lunch and dinner do you mind like yeah i have something that uh i i have uh specific things that i know that i i want to eat like my breakfast i used to i used to just do like a smoothie or these days i turned my smoothie into something more warm like a hot meal a warm oatmeal so i added in my protein powder i add in like my fruits and things so that i would try to focus on getting in the first thing in the morning like you know the very nutrient dense kind of food like uh all the different colors of fruits antioxidants protein hydration everything right so then i i get to like cook something for lunch and then sometimes it will be the same for dinner um so it could be some snacks here and there i i did sneak in a bit of ice cream as well so yeah so that that's how they're very normal as long as they're eating uh yeah that one maybe we can talk a bit later about the myths right what people usually think when it's about like you know uh healthy eating no you can't eat this you know that is like a cheat meal or whatever right so it's actually quite um quite simple and it's more like uh intuitive eating so so yeah so i i i use that approach and i realize with a lot of clients that it's actually better because it's more sustainable right right awesome actually vishen vishan lokiani he's i'm not sure if you're familiar with him he is he mind that term yeah from wine valley exactly he has this term of calling food as a i mean he look at food as a source of fuel right yeah yes that's the kind of mindset that that i really uh respect i mean that's that's one of the good things yeah i think that that's very true because um i always have this little tagline uh which is called like it according to your goals right um everybody's different you can't say that uh if a person eating oats that persists eating healthy uh and you see a person eating let's say our favorite nasi lemak it doesn't mean that they are cheating you know they are not taking care of their body right so yeah you're just eating or the texture the flavors then of course essentially it's fuel for your body and it should complement your lifestyle yeah right exactly awesome awesome all right so we have some of our uh audience in hi audrey hi lily hello hi lily okay great to have you guys so it's 6 p.m we can actually officially start all right okay welcome everyone yes um so welcome to this week's webinar my name is omid i'm going to be your host today and i cannot listen to some of the value nuggets that coach felicia has for us today so today's show is going to be a bit of um about about like social media marketing digital marketing and a bit of wellness as well since we have coach felicia with us today so this webinar is a part of next academy initiative so every week we talk about like social media digital marketing entrepreneurship and all those good stuff so if this is your first time joining us make sure you like the page next academy and you can also check out our past webinars at nextnextacademy.com webinars actually i'm going to put it down there if anyone is keen to check out our previous webinars so basically what we do is we share mostly things about digital marketing and also we share some of the resources that you guys can make use of in your digital journey okay so that was about what we usually do every week okay cool so a lot of us we had to change the way we do business almost all the businesses after like call it happened we have got affected with the new north during times like this um i believe we have to learn from those who have successfully adapted to the new lenore we have to find out like how they did it because it can actually help us in two ways one is it will it will basically help us subconsciously right so we basically know that okay if alicia did it if omi did it if mr xyz did it then we can do it as well right so it can help us in that sense and the second thing that can help us is it will actually give us i mean then felicia for example sharing her journey it might help us with some tactics or a few small tweaks that we can make in our business that can be actually a change maker so because of that i believe and i hope this webinar is going to be valuable valuable to you and of course because of some of because of the new norm some businesses also managed to open new doors they managed to get clients um from overseas we have an example here which we're going to talk about later so coach felicia thank you so much for your time and spending this evening with us yeah thank you so much great great so can you tell us a bit about yourself and you might want you might want to share how did you get started with health and wellness uh right wow that's a really long i think uh yeah thank you for that very like question i don't know where to start because it has been 12 years for me um so yeah so uh it's not really like you know i just jump into like the wellness industry i started with uh being me uh as a person or an individual looking for ways to stay healthy um and yeah i actually i'm a communication student i studied mass communications and i majored in pr so i did not have any nutrition or fitness background but i realized you know studying you know the college life is always you know the you know it's very normal to uh live a balanced lifestyle a healthy lifestyle where you depend a lot on processed food and things like that so uh during the process i realize uh post-graduation i do need to start eating healthy and start living leading a healthier lifestyle so that's how i got into um you know the wellness industry because i had a coach myself yeah and that's how i started the journey so when i decided like wow this is actually quite fun uh let me also learn uh how to become a coach myself so from then uh you know it's been 12 years i've added like nutrition coaching nutrition habits coaching and fitness um so my mission or my tagline will always be helping individuals to develop a good relationship with their body wire food and fitness so yeah so that's a little bit about how i got started awesome awesome so did you have any aha moment the moment that you felt like okay this is the time for me to become a coach or slowly slowly you became a coach yeah i think oh yeah that's a really good uh question um yeah uh maybe it was a girl yeah you can say it's like a calling right but yeah when i first lost i think i myself lost weight so i lost eight kg i remember i was feeling happy and uh and then you know then i realized that hey this could be some and then i enjoy sharing about my healthy eating or my exercises and things like that with friends and you know in fact my family generally is like pretty much health conscious so i'm thinking this could be something that uh i don't see myself doing a nine-to-five job so i kind of like this lifestyle um but i did work for about a couple about a year before i actually jumped into like full-time into this industry so i did have a working experience very short experience and then i was full time being on my own uh since then so yeah that maybe that was a hard moment the more i work with people and the more i realized that i really love people right in general helping them to achieve their goals right awesome awesome all right so you've been coached for like 12 years now right right okay so and and kobe happened last year in 2020 so let's take you back to march 2020 okay for me i vividly remember what happened when when they announced mco okay the thing is for me i was working with my previous company and at that time i remember that um the management of that company did it totally against working from home so they didn't want want people to work from home but one of the staff happened to be in contact with someone who was copied positive so because of that we had to start working from home one week before mco so for them it was a very big change right because they had to change like the way everything operates but i believe the impact that they had was not as much as the business like yours right because for you for like 10 11 years you guys have been training people like physically and then coaching them in person and then suddenly you have to shift everything online all right yeah so okay the question of how did kobe happen okay how okay the question is how did kovit impacted your business and what was the first things that crossed your mind when they announced mco when they said okay gyms have to close you cannot have like in-person training and all those things yeah right uh wow uh yeah we have been like in quite a bit they locked down for 400 over days right now like a year plus right and yeah back then um i you know i actually was operating uh physical studios uh back in perak which is still there uh i have like a studio in ipoh and a little small town called batu gaja so uh then i i'm then about two uh just i think 2018 and 2019 um just you know just to bring give you a little bit of context of how i how kovi 19 impacted me when the lockdown happened right um and i moved to k at the time um and i started working on more corporate uh wellness collaboration it was a lot of physical it was like like uh people would think that it's um you know why did i maybe i didn't choose a nine-to-five job we have it easier right actually we are mostly out from the house at like 6 a.m in the morning i only come back to the house at 9 00 9 30 p.m

so it's really long hours and yeah that total and at the time i actually just opened my nutrition cafe um and yeah and everything happened just like oh everything had to be closed so everybody just stayed home right um and we didn't know what was happening and uh yeah i had to close the um uh cafe uh in in around like june so yeah so that that that was the first thing because it was something physical and they had to close that down and it was my new venture but uh you know i i followed the uh whatever the orders the sops were you know we stayed home i wouldn't say i immediately adapted to it but i kept myself busy i was just looking for ways and how to uh you know finally probably stay at home for once and not like out from the house like for 12 14 hours a day uh so i started doing things like you know working out uh started to eat healthy and start to cook something simple i wasn't really a home person um i realized uh you know in the city life you're always out you know eating out hanging out with friends uh working meeting clients so everything has to be like really right in front of your laptop and computer and then just like and literally we were i didn't have any like you know work so like affected so far like i had to cancel all my um of course classes and uh it was about i think two to three weeks in um i would say that i've finally adapted to it like probably uh after june or july so it took me yeah a good march april may yeah a good three to four months um so yes i was just like anybody else i don't think um um it really i i didn't expect anything you know it was very frustrating at the time definitely um i would say i did keep like you know um on the hindsight i look back and i say okay maybe that's my way of like uh sort of being healthy at home kind of way and resetting everything it was my time to reset um i i saw that as an opportunity for that so yeah so i think that that is something that um i think i did um but yeah to close you know have to do have to not i available use a lot of ways a lot of um most of my uh most of my clients actually come from online like you know from my social media platform so um so yeah so i just went back there and i just refocused on it awesome so you had some presents before even call it happened right um it was like i put something and it was it was very um yeah some online presence but it was more like i still need to go out there and meet people physically uh to you know to create that connection it was not really some online um it was i haven't really tried the full online experience um so yeah so i was just you know trying to sort of like see how i can do it during the three months of me adapting to uh how the business has shifted right awesome awesome all right so let me let me take a moment just say hi to those who just join us we have jessica we have emily we have amiro mazney charlotte stewart thank you so much for being a part of this webinar by the way feel free to ask your questions from coach felicia okay so we are going to explore her social media journey okay for most of this webinar and we are going to get a couple of health and wellness tips i believe towards the end of like our talk here okay thank you but still feel free to ask questions yep all right okay cool so um you mentioned you it took you a few months until you realize that okay everything needs to go online and you need to basically adapt to whatever that's happening right right okay and i believe um right now you have around 10k social media followers across different platforms is that right okay awesome so um what i believe is the beginning journey of social media is a bit i'm not sure if this is the right word a bit intimidating in a sense that you keep posting things and not many people will engage not many people will like it i mean not like your post i think so the engagement is low and it could be a bit discouraging at the same time sometimes you compare yourself with the other pages sometimes they have like 50 000 100 000 200 000 followers and it's it's it could be a bit discouraging in a way yeah and in my opinion it's like earning money right like first 10 10 000 followers is like the hardest so if you're gaining going from zero to a 10k it's much more harder than going from 100k to 200k so can you walk us through how did you get started so at the beginning you were not posting so many so many posts and then slowly slowly you started gaining some traction and started posting daily can you walk us through what are the steps that you started following and how many followers you had at the beginning i would say uh you know i remember my first you know 100 followers then you know it's 500 and then you like to reach that 1 000 followers you know it is a journey um and uh yeah i think you brought up such a good point because it's very easy to get intimidated uh when you are first starting out even i came from a traditional background like a marketing background like we go out and like give flyers and we do road shows i still remember those days right that was like before um like we were posting on facebook definitely before instagram um and all these great platforms that we have now right um and uh and what i realized is that you know those experience you cannot really take away because i think that's really really important uh and it's what connects you with your audience your target audience it doesn't matter right somebody with a 50 000 followers they have their own audience right and their audience may not be you know your audience i think there is enough uh if you think about abundance right i believe in abundance you think about uh in the market there's enough for everybody um it's really important to know what you're good at what your strengths are uh and uh and yeah you have to know your niche because uh for me you know like back in 2017 i was really uh experimenting or that was diversifying so to speak into like corporate wellness um and yeah i found myself uh you know it fits my personal personality and my values you know i'm always a little bit more uh on the corporate side of things you know um in terms of like maybe from uh dressing or understanding the culture because i work a lot with the malay community for example like you know we know malaysians a big demographic is you know our malay community right and uh and yeah so i i don't see myself having to put myself out there um in probably like um uh you know if i'm wearing something i'm always like very like i'm concerned because it's respecting other people understanding other people's culture and then again we are in asia so uh what works in the western you know culture uh may not be able to uh you know be the same here so i just work on that you know i just believe in my own strength and i know that you know the power of probably um the command of language um you know in english in bahasa i think my bahasa is better than my mandarin so uh so yeah so so i i know you kind of have to know like for example if those are listening out there it's like you kind of have to know where your strengths are and uh i've been i've gotten feedback from people from clients from prospects and from like my friends in the industry it's really important to have uh always like the sounding board with your uh with your friends in the industry um as well as the people around you it's an ecosystem right you cannot survive on your own so yeah that one will go in a bit later about the communities online right yeah so so yeah realize that you have to know your strengths um and you have to know your wings weaknesses of course and yeah walk around there and uh increase um and you will stand up naturally automatically when you put yourself in a way that you're not trying to be someone you're not so so yeah i think i think that that is what um really was for me um and yeah of course you know we talked about thousands of followers compared to like you know you're if you're just starting i believe in like giving out the message and yeah and it's also try an error um there's nothing wrong if you if you have one person liking your post um and you may only have one person viewing um yeah i want to share with you also all with you know everybody's watching um i actually was a little bit camera shy like physical uh physical uh offline i can be all right but i was always a little bit shy like on camera so what happened is that during the uh early on like in march april right i started going online for 21 days like i was uh really on like every morning at 10 am i would just appear online on my facebook and i will just be talking about uh you know how i'm dealing with the pandemic how to eat healthy what to do you know how to how do you stay you know safe and things like that and and yeah so those 21 days of doing it uh helped me to where i am today because from there i started to grow and to think about a bit more on the business side of things like uh for uh like i used to just okay let's just put something as simple as like my phone um and to having a proper tool upgrading the mic upgrading the camera so those are the things that if you think in a business perspective we'll always instead of comparing why other people are doing better than you um then you say how can i stand up uh how can i improve my like virtual experience my online experience with my you know uh potential clients out there so yeah so that was my mindset awesome awesome great points i'm going to get back to the point that you just mentioned about being camera shy and how you overcome that i'm sure a lot of us do have that kind of feeling so we might want to get some advice on that and also one great point that you mentioned before i go to the questions we do have some great questions in the chat i mean the comments so one thing you mentioned that was that struck me was those people who have 50 000 followers they have they are they're having a different market right and then you with like 300 500 1 000 or even 5 000 followers you will have a different market so there is no comparison there sometimes even people get people are more comfortable they connect better to to those who are having less followers i believe right who can have like more personal or relatable i'll get a response from this particular coach or person right yeah exactly i mean you're living that life right awesome all right so audrey is asking how do you get past the feeling of being powerless i believe she's talking about after the pandemic happened so for a few months you are in you're in a feeling that okay you're not sure what's going to happen next you you don't have any control over it how did you get past that feeling yeah it's very yeah thank you agree for that question i think it's really that feeling of like uncertainty and then like now it's even like worse if like you it's never gonna get there's no perfect timing then you realize that it's not just like the pandemic that's causing it um it's just our life generally like every year passes so quickly right so you you just a blink of an eye right um yeah so i i really credit this you know not that i'm very strong or you know i i i'm you know so strong on my own i really created credit to uh you know my family uh my friends um and also like uh yeah the support group is so important um like uh planning maybe just a workout session with between me and my girlfriends they are not even my clients right so just you know two or three of us on a whatsapp video call then we'll be exercising uh and that just boosts your uh self-esteem and your you feel good for the day kind of thing and then you just okay let me focus on what i need to do uh do i need to go and post content do i need to what can i how can i share my experience i know i'm not alone how can i share my experience with other people out there yeah so then then you realize that wow you know sometimes when you are trying to overcome things on your own uh people get inspired and that is um you know something that money cannot buy sometimes it's people who come to you and just say hey um keep you know uh keep being like you know uh positive and showing up every day uh making your smoothies doing your exercise you know uh and yeah so so those are the things that i really um uh yeah your support group is really important so i really credit to i really credit my friends and my trainer friends and my colleagues and all these people um and yeah i open up a borderless world right so uh you can really see the world coming together at that time to really um like uh you know let us support because we're all facing it together so rather than being powerless you just shift that to like hey um you know how can i get the support that i need so yeah awesome awesome yep it's it's mainly about the i believe it's mainly about the mindset and then the uh basically the group i mean the environment that you put yourself in great points all right sword is asking how would you recommend someone starting from zero to get a handful of first followers let's say someone is starting from scratch they want to just create a community like some online presence what are your recommendations i think uh yeah regardless of the uh you know stuart like regardless of the industry that you're in um it's really important to first know uh what kind of message that you want who are your clients who are you talking to right doesn't it doesn't mean that oh i have to now show up like coach felicia showing all my you know workouts and you know food intake every single day um it's like i treat my social media uh uh you know on a little bit like personal slash um business so um obviously you know it's all like you know we all know that social media is a little bit more curated you don't get to see uh you know the site the vulnerable side you know and the feelings but it's okay to share i think um as long as i think uh you know you are showing up as yourself being genuine being authentic uh and of course you know visuals help so if now you have like so much tools that you can use uh you know just with a good camera uh and then with some editing skills you can use like canva uh and then there's so many you know platforms that you can show up video uh you know good photos uh whatever that you're good at and i think um people want to see the real you right and um and then you get to show that every um you know be consistent you don't you don't tell people like you know like you just take for example like you can see people opening up roadside stalls right um they're selling their you know fruits or they're selling they are you know nasi lemak right uh you don't see them opening like today and then you don't see them uh opening uh closing and then opening like the next week or maybe two months time right they open they are there every single day so i think we have to be on social media we are on the online should take the same mindset showing up every day they don't have like a signboard saying that we open what time to what time people just know that these the same uh pachi and machi is going to be there selling you know your favorite breakfast right so why do we think that online is anything different is the same so it's about knowing who your target audience is and and really showing up you know consistently every single day awesome okay it's time for you to show up straight actually that's what exactly you did at the beginning right you mentioned you start like recording yourself to get over that um being feel that's uncomfortable feeling of being in front of the camera right awesome great points okay we do have stephanie does increase number of followers does it increase okay does the increased number of followers translate to increased revenue or more focus should be put on content what's your suggestion all right stephanie i think uh you have a good question there really right on point um yeah unfortunately numbers do number of followers are important uh but numbers of engagement is even more important i mean um you know we you know the digital marketing you know experts uh like all me and his team will know better right uh you know the algorithm of like social media platforms changes you know so you have to really have both uh yeah for from my i have a couple of different social platforms um you know social media platforms and from you know i get most of my clients sometimes from my personal page where i don't even really promote really about my services you know people just know where to find me so um it's um and it's not like 10 000 followers right so but of course if you reach that 10 000 followers you do get certain uh perks like uh you get the swipe up button you know like on instagram and things like that so of course you know um having those numbers uh help you to sort of like gain confidence from uh you know your prospects but it's really about the content because um now days that we know you know saving the content sharing it uh tagging a friend uh on the post it's equally important so uh yeah you have to have both to sort of like it complements each other so as your uh content is going viral so you must also keep on the consistency so uh your prospects or your target audience will you know be following you to see what you're up to next so yeah i think um yeah you uh you can work on both at the same time uh don't think don't overthink i think the content as well sometimes a very simple thing like i remember talking about going to the store and buying eggs uh after a workout like i because i was like i don't even want to like and uh you know make hard boiled eggs on my own i just went to the store and bought it instead of the let's say curry puffs or you know the nasi lemak that i know that you know uh it's not according to my new plan for the day for example and that video got saved got shared and everything you know um and some workout videos that i do like my one minute workout videos and things like that a lot of people save that and share it with their friends um and recently i did a running indoors and yeah a lot of people say wow i didn't think of that i should start running indoors you know put on like the youtube with the view and start running indoors without a treadmill example so you never know how uh people you know from people who never will never respond to you will start talking to you um i think that's the beginning of you know the beginning of uh how uh followers you can gain more followers and of course essentially gain more uh customers awesome great great okay we do have a couple of more questions audrey is asking during your 21 days can you advise everyone how to prepare themselves mentally to be in front of camera haha okay okay yeah that's good yeah i i i don't have this like camera you know i like i didn't even have a proper lighting okay i did invest in like my first ring light at the time um and uh mentally i was just like okay i'm not gonna i'm not selling anything i'm just coming up to share and yeah i remember one of the friends that really tune in almost every day is like when she was preparing food in the kitchen lunch for the family she's like oh let me just tune in to what to see what felicia is talking about you know and yeah she's just a friend but she would be the one engaging with me during those times so i'm very thankful to her and she did see my improvement from like when i first did my first 21 days until until now um and yeah so the the the mental i mean if let's say you're shy in front of the camera just like you know go for it like have some sort of key points um that you want to talk about maybe i see people sharing about their hobby what they like to do um and yeah and then nowadays i think people uh need to feel like they are connecting with somebody um so yeah if you're showing up and spreading you know positivity uh and good vibes i think people would you know tune and tune in and then watch you and then yeah and that's how you are using that as like um like like a stepping stone or yeah like a stepping stone for more things but then you can write up a script and all this thing so if you just want to get it out from your system right i think you just go for it yeah just be there like you know i set a time 10 a.m every single morning uh you know just show up and you know talk for 20 30 minutes yeah awesome yeah i think this is a follow-up question how long's how long are your sessions yeah i i think i kind of like you know you can tell from the way i speak right sometimes i think i do ramble a little bit like i i was just like thinking like i'm sharing i'm not teaching anybody anything i will try to engage with you know i have only like one or two people because at 10 a.m people are actually working um so i only get like a couple of people uh you know to sort of like engage so once i kind of have like and i'll say hi melissa hi this and hi dad and then you know seeing what they are saying to me and i try to you know figure out like the flow of the conversation and things like that so yeah so maybe about 20 to 30 minutes um it's not too long and i actually do have those videos still on my platforms um as embarrassing as it would it would be um i feel that that's really important because uh then people that want to view it back again will actually be like liking the pose and commenting so don't worry about not being perfect um yeah a good 20 30 minutes and not too long maybe like you want people to watch it right so um and uh and that's how you can you know improve you use those sessions to improve yourself awesome all right um we take a few more questions before we proceed charlie is asking hi felicia how long it takes you to hit your first 1000 followers have uh and have more engagement it's been a tough journey for me all right uh yeah hi charlotte yeah so you want to look at a few things um i feel you because when instagram first started i was uh i i was on instagram already and example uh yeah just talking about history because like you know you want to have like the followers right um like really think about uh i do follow a lot of people in the industry sometimes which is not local and you know i'm speaking like australia and europe and the us so i see how they are posting and i find those to be very uh something that they are like they are talking to me personally and i follow them i like their polls and i share their posts for a reason right so i use that as my inspiration and localize it into my own content and see what you know malaysians would like so there's so many great examples nowadays um and yeah for i think it took me a long time to hit one thousand followers um maybe a year uh yeah it's not it's not something it's not easy you know definitely we talked about organic which at a time um i wasn't even doing any ads but yeah if you can sponsor your ads um you know if you have pretty much a good content already for a couple of months or a year then you can start to see uh you know which post that you actually want to sponsor and and yeah create different things there's so many uh yeah free tips online um i think the key is to really follow through follow one course until success right so engagement is just like um yeah if you are just posting about you know um let's say something uh like your selfie of the day for example or your your meals of the day you can just ask like a question right um like what are you eating um and sometimes i just post about my food and you know behind the scenes uh i like the way i prep my food and you know then you get engagement and just say that oh can i have the recipe and things like that so yeah people would want to engage with you when they actually see that something they can actually refer you to so uh of course using hashtags uh and tagging locations yeah those are the basic things you know i don't even have like um i don't even actually have like a uh like a traditional way of learning it so i'm like just picking up from like uh those digital marketing gurus and you know and all these platforms for uh for inspiration and how to write your tutorials yeah so uh yeah i think i think just show up consistently and knowing uh your intention to post your content um it's really important um yeah so sometimes you want to like beautify a little bit making sure all your posts looks organized and sometimes being unorganized is something that people want because uh it's real right you're showing me up as your real self awesome great so amiron is asking does the quantity of content matter more than quality uh all right thank you amiro for the question um i feel uh it's uh it's both you cannot you know sometimes we like we do have like writer's block you know we do have like our you know we are kind of stuck right yeah we can't we don't know what to post you can't leave me for too long um as well so quantity does matter like showing up you know um sometimes if you don't do your daily post you can still be on insta stories and you know try not to be such uh perfectionist i mean i i am one as well so i can totally relate uh but yeah the content is important uh and sometimes you hop onto trends right like what are the things that you know you can see like really from social media uh influencers um you know they're really good at capturing um like what's in trend right now and make it their own um so as long as we keep it uh you know um humorous uh fun informational and also something that people like to like and share and tech their friend yeah look for those kind of posts for inspiration so that you can improve the quality of it so yeah quality definitely is important but quantity uh you know does help because if you only post once a month then people are not going to see you uh probably as much as you would want them to be if you're talking about organically right yeah awesome uh so we have one more questions in the in the comments hi felicia how do you go about getting brand partnership been loving your work you have some of your friends here yeah he's actually a fellow like a runner uh and yeah we you know i was coaching like for a team uh uh um because i got into running this past uh this during the pandemic actually so uh you know shout out to an online community uh like yellow pacers right and and yeah so i i started you know um going more into running and knowing different people so um so yeah so grandfather is very really interesting so i used to wonder like uh because the first question that people ask me uh do you get sponsored do you get like endorsement plans uh then i actually don't really see myself as a um influencer of that sort like you know people will come to me to look like no you you want to endorse this product i've never really done that specifically uh because i always uh presented myself as a coach and uh anything that you know relates to it if i want to promote something um usually it's from my own pocket and uh and also but you know during the pandemic is very interesting that because i've stayed true to my work uh i had like you know through running uh you know fitness line of academies uh like um running academies and things like that so i got the opportunity to work with some good brands um i showed up recently on you know sports direct um to share with people about runner's diet and how to pick a good pair of shoes and things like that so yeah so those are the opportunities that's really uh that that really happened for me during the pandemic so yeah i do not know how i got those uh but but yeah it's just doing your work and just showing up um and yeah and i feel that's the fine line because okay if you want to go down the road of like uh every post is very um you know about selling about promoting this brand or promoting other brand then you know you can go down that road uh you know but for me because i value my my work because i work directly with clients um so hence why like brand partnership is not my main focus but it was a joke between me and my friend who uh you know who was a video who is a videographer yeah he told me yeah you should be getting all this brand you know partnership and things like that um so yeah so it did happen um in in an interesting way um so i'm glad to be able to collaborate with them uh and i think when you just show up you know when you create quality content so i really study people who really uh put in the work to create the content and you know the visuals are great the lighting is great you know the investment then again you put yourself in the business kind of mindset and then yeah you will start getting in the brand partnership if that's what you're looking for awesome awesome i think the key point here is to just putting yourself out there creating content be consistent and things will happen right right exactly awesome awesome and i notice you are you have a strong community presence right in fact even we got to know each other through yolo paces right um shout out to them yeah yolo faces running club right yeah so how do you think this community community engagements have contributed to your success uh yeah i would definitely cr you know it has been my way of connecting with people uh i yeah it's it's very interesting you know it started from like hobby uh hobbies like i have met a group of friends that i've you know uh wouldn't know unless it was online through a mutual interest and we traveled overseas together and things like that and yeah during the pandemic i just went back to uh yeah getting to know people online you know like like there's so many things out there right dating you meet people online uh like if you like running you have your community and yeah and like uh audrey found me from like the female founders entrepreneurs group so um i am very active in this because it's something that i am interested in not i don't put myself in like i want to sell something in the community but i just want to see hey you know who is in the market and what are the things that people are doing well that i can learn from and then perhaps share my experience um and yeah and i also do volunteering during the pandemic we are giving out food uh uh you know food box uh food packs and things like that for community uh under the care among this uh umbrella uh i used to do street feeding um you know for the homeless so all these things are all very community based right so whether it's offline and online but online is so powerful i met a lot of new friends during the pendently and some most of them we actually haven't met because obviously uh you have to you know keep your uh you know social distancing and everything right so yeah so that that has really helped me to uh get my name out there um you know obviously people ask me what do you do and you just show up right so um and yeah we may follow each other on instagram and that is really helpful because uh or facebook or whatever it is that's very helpful because um it's not about you know intentionally getting clients from there but it's just like uh seeing how you can add value to the community right so community community is about coming together so um i think yeah that is for me you know i don't see it as a way to um sell my services uh i'm just there and yeah somehow the word will travel and you know they know somebody who needs a service or anything like that something like that yeah right right awesome okay so i i think like the the whole point is to to just go out there and then we we need to go with the mindset of contributing to that community right yes and to be a part of them and actually before this video someone asked me to ask you does commenting on other videos sorry other people's accounts help for growing engagement i believe how often and how should you do it do you do that like do you engage with other other posts on instagram and other social medias definitely i was just going i was just i just stumbled on this post um that mentioned about like don't just go there and say you know love your post uh great or just give them a love right so they can't really see anything so a genuine comment uh really uh if you really enjoyed the post search for a few posts and you know like some of the posts that you really enjoy uh you really appreciate and really take time to give a genuine comment compliment or whatever that you find is really good um i think that is real engagement um and uh and yeah and drop them a dm i don't think it's wrong so there is a good way to uh just you know instead of just putting like hi i'm a coach and you know like you're looking for personal training but for me no you have to be genuine and say hi felicia i really love your content yeah let's stay connected yeah i have actually gotten clients from there from just connecting people because uh like for example uh i'll share with uh you know in this instance i was a friend with this girl online on instagram and she's i'm i don't see her as like my potential client uh but you know we are of uh roughly the same age and at that time uh she was just uh sharing her experience about how she's like uh going to the u.s and applying for visa and always wanted to go to new york and things like this so i was like oh i'm so jealous that you're going so i started engaging with her i started like uh commenting on the post and i actually messaged her then i followed her and things like that um and then yeah i saw all the wonderful travel uh you know journey and that was like that's it you know that was like i didn't say that you know oh yeah then i think a year later when she came back uh yeah when she came from a holiday and then she would say i'm looking for you know something yeah that was like a year or two later and then now she's actually a good friend and also a long time uh client and yeah during the pandemic she actually went for surgery uh and uh she did came to me to uh have an online class with her to help her to like uh work on like a you know stress uh like a mobility and flexibility as well so yeah so you never know who you you know if you do a proper engagement this you know customers will these individuals will not only uh follow you but they become good friends and yeah they may become a client or they may actually recommend applying to you so um yeah as long as you're showing up uh with you know genuine intentions um i think that's you know really important so yeah that that is you know i hope this uh yeah a little bit of sharing helps yeah awesome awesome i think during this pandemic people also will be more open to to like engage with other people so if you reach out to them if you if you basically started striking conversation with them if you love their work you express it in a genuine way yeah that will also like help in i believe so what would you recommend to people who are just starting out what would be the top three things that um they need to pay attention to when they go online or when they are starting out their social media journey uh i think start with what you have that's number one um yeah most of them we don't even start because we don't think we have the right tools or the right evil look or the right expertise to offer people you know your services our services i've seen so many people you know among the fitness industry people uh who has gone into like selling uh like food um or doing different things right outside from the uh their work because obviously if they are if their work is primarily focused on uh like going to the gym like you know fitness center so now the gyms the studios the fitness centers are close they have to do something else right um yeah so if you have to really know um you have to really just start with what you have um don't do not think that you need everything i started just with my phone a ring light and then i started looking into like uh upgrading and just telling my story and then connect and putting myself into communities you never know uh one good word of mouth will actually help to elevate your presence right and uh you know i then i see the strength of like you know if you have that one good customer um you know and that person is able to give you a good testimonial uh yeah that is something that you can play on um and uh and yeah i think the key here the third point it will be abundance um i find that you know i think we share we share the same sentiment you know it's actually quite a small industry uh regardless what industry you're in whether you're fitness wellness uh you're in the tech industry or the fmp industry um it's really like you know the back to hashtag peter jagged eater right so uh you will never lose business if you help somebody else um and if you support them give them you know give them some moral support or helping or [Music] supporting them in terms of their business like buying something from them and things like that and giving a review um so so yeah so be again uh i will say that uh just know that you know your work if you put yourself out there if you post you know you're you're you're sharing and if you're showing up uh do not wait till you're perfect um you know start with what you have um and yeah be adding value to other people um you know having that abundance is really important yeah so i would say that that would be the you know three tips that i would give for anybody who's actually just starting awesome started what do you have abundance and the third one was adding value right yeah adding value yes awesome great great and i believe you have some international clients how did you get them yeah it's actually interesting because i think during the recovery uh you know mco last year so i started picking up clients um around my area like within like two to three kilometers range um so i started going a little bit back offline because that's where i feel uh and the client came from uh instagram by the way so yeah it's still online in a way right so i started working with this uh housewife and uh you know i i was just focusing on like doing my work right making sure that she gets the results so we should we just became friends we talk about nutrition habits we talk about uh work life uh you know uh balance uh you know or she as a housewife we know how to draw the line how to be how to live we talk about self-love self-care so we practically like we are very close and uh and yeah i think coaches uh play like uh like like a little bit about like a bit of a play a little psychologist kind of role uh you know we don't call ourselves a psychologist or therapist but uh people do confide you know so uh we share a lot of things right and and yeah and building that trust it's just not that one hour session with her right it's it's about like you know genuine care and connection and um the husband uh they actually expects in um malaysia so the husband you know um happened to be uh you know traveling for work and things like that and um you know at the time the wife was already like probably almost a year with me and uh yeah maybe about maybe not a year maybe like eight months nine months and we are very very really very close right and um you know the husband always look at me like oh i think you are like a part of the family my wife talked about you so much right and and yeah so he went on this business trip and he met another family friend who was in dubai uh and yeah he just started telling them because he was amazed by how much they have grown throughout the you know during the pandemic they've stayed home put on weight right and and this family friend loves to eat right the whole family is like you know into like their foodies um so they say ah we're looking for trainers but you know since the gyms are closed you know what do we do kind of thing yeah and then my uh you know my client's husband said like maybe you should talk to my wife's trainer i think she's really good my wife lost like you know seven to eight kg and she's like in hiding weight uh maybe you can book something out i cannot believe like you know you could just technically get any trainers in dubai right i mean there's a plenty there's plenty of them there right um so i was like are you sure that you really want me to like work online but uh so yeah pandemic uh is apparently uh good i guess you know to open up to like online you know i've never really done online sessions before um like like really consistently so you know and then i started like okay let's see what we can do i just went on zoom with them um and then started talking and and yeah so they have been working out uh you know a family as a family with me um so yeah there's a bit of time difference and all uh but yeah but that's how how it started what amount is still very important right testimonial doing one good work will lead to another so never think that you are just spending a one hour with your client and you know that's that's enough like your after sales service right it's always very important exactly exactly so as as digital marketing trainers we always talk about word of mouth right and here is a proof okay so we do have another six minutes so i understand this webinar um is more about digital marketing social media but i cannot hold myself from asking questions about wellness and nutrition so i'm gonna start with this um what are the top three myths in health and wellness that you wish everybody knew so things that people people think is true but it's actually not okay uh right i i think that that's really uh yeah there's so many right out there i think one of the things is about uh i think the first myth i would put is that uh people always look for i mean don't get me wrong i'm also in the industry right people always look for fitness trainers uh when they want to lose weight but they know like 78 of it is actually diet related right or you know uh how i put it uh how do i put it like diet uh it's affected by what you eat right and uh and yeah it's really interesting and how you know the uh the way that people think i got to exercise more to uh you know to burn whatever i've eaten you know so i feel less guilty um yeah so the first thing is always like never think that exercise can burn more than what you can eat and people just get the whole idea wrong exercise is there to make you strong make you enjoy and obviously for mental health reasons i'm really into mental health as well so it really helps you to create more uh endorphins uh like hormones happy hormones for you to feel happy and you can be more productive and things like that yeah so yeah that's the first meet you know exercise and nutrition it always comes together it could be like the king is i know nutrition or the king is exercise or whatever it is right so it has to come as a pair right the second myth i would say that i think uh people uh a lot of people think that you know to to lose weight or to get healthy to get fit to uh you have to uh restrict yourself uh like you know in terms of like cutting down your food uh going on long hours of fasting i think every method works uh but i would go back to like what method can work for you in the long run you know it's not to say that fasting doesn't help it's not to say that cutting out your carbohydrates doesn't help obviously because you're cutting down your calories that's why you are losing weight for example so i think that's really important to know that restriction is not the way to go um it's really about the holistic and the balance right and the third one because i saw uh audrey posting on you know how to get apps right so what you see on social media it's not really true or it's very curated people show up you know we talk about in all these different lighting and angles we talk about shredding for that particular photo and going for the competition of your feet to that bikini body or you know abs or whatever not um you know you have to understand that a fitness uh pers fitness trainer a fitness person it doesn't mean that they have to show up in front of you with the six packs right um i didn't i don't show my six packs to get clients uh you know and and six packs or or you know with a definition at all it's not wrong it's really nice to see definitely usually right uh but it's also very into like physique and bodybuilding so there is another goal all together they are like going for competition or they have a certain aesthetic goals that they want to go for right um so a lot of normal people think that you know let's eat like broccoli and chicken breast so that i can get the same six pack or do like 20 push-ups or you know carry like 40 kg lifting so you don't have to do that um if that is not your goal so you have to match it right and then you and yeah that is actually one of the things that i really like to you know talk about because uh i've actually spent a couple of years training older people as well so do you know do you know anybody who has like your parents or elderly at home and they need somebody to exercise with them because obviously they need to strengthen their muscles keep the lean muscles make sure they eat right make sure they get you know get moving and because we do lose muscle after a certain age and when you lose muscle you actually lose mobility so hence why um it's really important you know to start young but obviously if you are older even more so importantly that you take care so yeah so i think it uh really according to your goals right so don't compare yourself with social media and don't get intimidated right yeah but if that's what you want uh yeah you have to like you know be on a strict very strict uh discipline awesome awesome great sharing thank you so much coach felicia by the way if you guys are interested in coach felicia's teachings and you want to check out her social answering right but it's really nice to have somebody to sort of uh bounce back and then yeah you see the yeah we are all in need of human connection so thank you so much for everybody who will join
